Beachfront pitches at Kildonan with seals on the rocks offshore
About Seal Shore Camping and Touring Site
Seal Shore sits right on the beach at Kildonan on Arran's southern tip, with pitches looking out across the Firth of Clyde to Pladda lighthouse and the distinctive outline of Ailsa Craig. Grey seals regularly haul out on the rocks just offshore, and dolphins or basking sharks often appear further out in summer. The site takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, and its position away from the island's main road makes it one of the quieter bases on Arran despite being only a short drive from Whiting Bay and Lamlash.
Facilities are straightforward rather than resort-style: hook-up pitches, a shower and toilet block, and a small on-site shop for essentials. The Kildonan Hotel is a short walk away for meals and drinks, and there's tennis nearby for anyone after more activity. The site's low-key character and beachfront location win it a loyal following among walkers tackling the Coastal Way and anyone seeking a slower pace on Arran's quieter south coast.

Fabulous location. Lovely Sea view from our pitch, we had number19, we were at the back but it sheltered us from the gusty sea breeze. Good size pitches. We had two together for myself, hubby, son, partner and 3 children, plus our 2 dogs. Was really good that we could spread out and erect what we needed. Showers/toilets were spotless and 2 good size dish washing sinks with hot water. (Water pressure at the dish washing sinks was low but manageable). Handy little shop on site, not over priced. Lovely little bistro too, we had fish and chips, would recommend.

Cannot fault this place. Great facilities and, more importantly, lovely people. Can't rate accommodation as I was camping, pitch with a sea view. Showers were lovely and hot and very clean, same with loos. There's a dry room as well as a wee kitchen, laundry, (didn't use but saw others use). Had an injury from walking while there and a staff member came to my aid. Everyone was so pleasant. This is a place I would highly recommend. Top notch!

Absolutely 1st class location, right on the beach. Nice site, friendly owners. Showers have been refurbished and are clean with plenty hot water. Great location to base yourself, lots to do round about and walkable to the village and cafe beyond. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here in a tent 20th to 22nd May. Its a beautiful site in a unbelievable location. Easy to get to and fabulous facilities. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Seen dolphins swimming in the bay and otters scurrying across the beach. Hopefully come back again and highly recommend.
