About The Lagg Hotel

The Lagg Hotel traces its history back to 1791, making it the oldest licensed inn on Arran, and its wooded gardens and open fires give it a character that newer hotels on the island can't easily replicate. Rooms range from garden doubles to four-poster suites, and public and lounge bars give guests a choice of settings for an evening drink.

Its position in Kilmory puts it within easy reach of Lagg Distillery, less than a mile away, along with Shiskine golf course and the sandy stretch of Torrlinn beach reached by a short coastal path. The hotel is dog-friendly throughout, a point it makes a feature of rather than a concession.

For visitors basing a trip around the quieter south and west of Arran, or planning to spend time at the distillery next door, the Lagg's history and setting make it a distinctive alternative to the hotels clustered around Brodick.

Greatest hotel i've ever stayed in. Hospitality was typically Scottish warm and plenty of craic. Great crew of people ready for a chat, a laugh and a game of pool in the bar. Food was tasty and substantial portions. Shout out to big Rab for fixing up the beds last minute!

A home from home. We genuinely had one of the loveliest stays ever. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel heartily welcome, and immediately at home. With ferry cancellations nearly ending the holiday early, we finally arrived at beautiful the Lagg Inn, and our holiday quickly became one of the best we’ve ever had. With the warm welcome, gorgeous rooms, stunning gardens, delicious food, a 10 min walk from the beach, and truly lovely people, we honestly can only sing the Lagg Inn’s praises. Thank you.

We dined as a large party at the restaurant. Fish and chips were delicious, service was friendly and fast, and the house beer was fantastic. Wish i could find it elsewhere!
