Baltija

Baltija is a bungalow built on a single level at the undercliff near St Lawrence, at the island's southern tip. The design means no stairs to navigate, and the entire property spreads across the ground floor: four bedrooms (two doubles and two singles), two bathrooms, an open-plan living and dining space, and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything needed for a stay is covered—heating, power, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included.

The real draw is the setting. Southern exposure brings warmth and brightness; on clear days you catch glimpses of the sea. The garden is substantial, mostly laid to lawn with rockery features, multiple seating areas with furniture already in place, and space enough for three cars to park on site. The property sits at the end of a quiet road with no through traffic, giving genuine peace despite being close enough to Ventnor for a 10-minute drive, or a 15-minute walk along footpath to Woody Bay. That Victorian town has small independent shops, parks, museums and the Winter Gardens entertainment venue. The undercliff location means different garden levels and water features; children need supervising outdoors. No smoking inside.
