Shanklin's beach sits less than a minute's walk away, backed by an esplanade lined with amusement arcades, crazy golf, ice cream stands and cafés. The sand is clean and spacious; the water safe for swimming. A seafront promenade runs along the shore, giving access to cliff-top paths that lead east towards Steephill Cove and west towards Sandown. The Isle of Wight's full coastline—over 30 miles of it—connects to this spot, meaning serious walkers can reach Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Robin Hill Adventure Park, or The Needles from here as a day trip.
On the Beach is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom flat on the first floor, sleeping four. The living space is open-plan, with a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals, a dining area and a Freeview Smart TV. One bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in), the other two singles (2ft 6in each). The bathroom combines a bath and shower. Bed linen and towels come as standard, along with Wi-Fi and electricity. Gas central heating means it works year-round. There is a public car park nearby, charged separately.
The flat suits families or two couples wanting beach access without fuss, or anyone planning to use Shanklin as a base for exploring the island. No smoking inside. Check-in is after 15:00, departure before 10:00.

Beautiful clear beach surrounded by cliffs with an arcade and rides on the seafront. Of the beaches we visited on the Isle of Wight, this was definitely our favorite.

A lovely little beach situated to the east of the island, just down the road from Sandown. A couple of small paybyphone carparks along the front. The Shanklin shuttle (bus service) runs along the sea front stops every half hour connecting the town centre to the beach, also stopping at Shanklin chine & the Old village. Theres a lovely big arcade here, crazy golf and other outside activities for youngsters and places to eat and drink. The public toikets here are clean with plenry of cubicles. There are several benches located up the little strip, so great for the maturer people too. I quite like this little beauty spot 😉
