The Bungy

The Bungy is a single-storey bungalow built right at the water's edge. Everything is on one level: a combined living and dining space with a Smart TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, two bedrooms (one double, one with singles), and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; there is space for one car on the property.

The location is the draw. The building sits so close to the coast that you can taste salt in the air, and from the outdoor dining area you look straight out to sea and watch boats pass. Colwell Bay, a sheltered swimming beach with golden and shingle sand, is a short walk away. The bay has a restaurant, bar and café serving fresh seafood, with views across the Solent to the English mainland. From here you can walk to Totland Bay or, in the other direction, visit Fort Victoria near Yarmouth. For something more dramatic, Compton Bay—known for fossil hunting and backed by multi-coloured sandstone cliffs—is a short drive; it draws surfers and kite-flyers for its strong winds and two-mile spread of contrasting sand. The Isle of Wight itself offers cream teas in quiet villages, a steam railway, The Needles, various attractions from wildlife centres to vineyards, and a warm, sunny climate for most of the year. The bungalow does not permit smoking.
