Waterside suits couples after a break by the sea and families wanting both beach time and a swimming pool on their doorstep. The apartment sits on the ground floor directly opposite the beach, metres from the distinctive 25m lido with its retractable roof and wraparound windows. The whole place is yours alone: two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one three-quarter double), two bathrooms, and an open-plan living area with a dining space and kitchen. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are included.

The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee machine mean you can prepare anything from breakfast to an evening meal. The living room has a TV with streaming services and a PlayStation 5. Both bedrooms have smart TVs. There's underfloor heating throughout, and a cubicle shower in each bathroom. Outside, a front patio and rear courtyard both have seating, giving you options for fresh air. Parking is on street or in the large public car park fifty yards away. The Duck pub is nearby, and local restaurants and shops are within walking distance. No smoking in the property. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

Kind staff, accessible for prams and wheelchair users, bookings available for all sorts of swimming activities, water play gear available for purchase, lifeguards always patrolling, can purchase sessions at reception but best to book in advance to avoid disappointment in busy/peak hours, vending machine for hydration and snacks but no café. Standards for baby changing facilities and navigating around could be better. Although there's a café right outside, I have not gone to it at this time. Near the canoe lake, not far from the beach and lots of places to get ice-cream and play in the parks nearby. Great time for the kids.

I went for the first time today and had a great experience. A really friendly welcome from Henry at reception. The pool was well monitored by life guards. Changing rooms clean and roomy and all at a really reasonable price. I'll be back again 🙂
