Whitwell Hideout
Isle of Wight
Whitwell Hideout is a converted Grade II listed stone barn on the Isle of Wight, arranged entirely on the ground floor. You arrive into a space that mixes original features—vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, stonework—with practical modern living. The open-plan area combines kitchen, dining and sitting room with a smart TV; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and full-sized fridge. Two bedrooms sleep up to five: one with a double bed (4ft 6in), the other with a bunk bed and single bed. There is one shower room. A back garden with seating area and furniture looks out over the surrounding land, and parking for two cars is on site.
The location sits three miles from the Isle of Wight's southern coast. Ventnor, Shanklin and Steephill Cove are all a short drive away, offering different kinds of beach—family promenades and quieter bays among them. The local village of Whitwell has a pub and is surrounded by walking and cycling routes across rolling hills and down to cliffs. Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Ventnor Botanic Garden and the Donkey Sanctuary are all within reasonable reach. Essentials including electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are covered. One pet is welcome. No smoking inside.
