Darcy House
Westmorland and Furness
Kirkby Lonsdale is a working market town positioned between three major landscapes—the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Trough of Bowland are all within reach. The town itself has kept its character: independent shops, cafés, restaurants and several pubs line streets where Georgian and Victorian buildings still stand. A pub is within a mile's walk of the property.
Darcy House occupies a double-fronted Georgian building on the market square, built around 1640 and Grade II listed. The interior mixes original details—oak beams with date markings, window shutters, hand-painted Victorian wallpaper—with antiques and thoughtfully chosen furnishings. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms serve five guests across three floors: a super king on the first floor with its own shower room; two doubles on the upper storeys, each with full bathroom facilities. Downstairs, a dining room with French doors opens to the enclosed garden; two reception rooms (one with woodburner, both with Freeview TV) provide separate spaces for different moods. The kitchen has a range cooker, and a utility room takes care of laundry. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. The property is yours alone, and smoking is not permitted.
