About Canvas and Campfires
Canvas and Campfires is a tiny, off-grid retreat tucked into the Ceredigion countryside near Lampeter, offering just a handful of pitches amid spectacular scenery and genuine peace. The site runs on renewable energy and centres around a covered terrace with a hot tub – perfect after a day exploring the surrounding forest trails and wildlife-rich valleys. Accessible facilities include spacious, wheelchair-friendly showers and toilets, while campfires, barbecues and dogs are all welcome year-round.
The remote location means you're firmly in walkers' and cyclists' paradise territory, with canoeing, fishing and mountain biking all close by, plus a nearby farmers' market for stocking up on local produce. What visitors say
This is an amazing place, we stayed in one of their accessible Safari Tents - this is the first time we've managed to stay under canvas with our daughter and they loved it. Dan and Ellie are the best hosts possible; so very helpful and friendly. The accessible tents are perfect for a wheelchair - the wetroom works really well. The small kitchen is great and I had a lovely time being in charge of the wood-burner. Sitting on the veranda in the evening and into the night - on a clear night - the stars are wonderful. Dan brought the animals down so that M could feed them from their wheelchair. Ellie lent H a belt because she'd forgotten one. The location is very handy for the coast and the surrounding attractions but wonderfully peaceful. Whether you stay for a week like we did or just for a few days, I can guarantee you'll come away relaxed and chilled. We'll be back next year.....

We have returned home today from an absolutely wonderful stay here as a family of 4 (2 kids aged 3 and 7) and I literally have nothing negative to say about this place. The tents are fab and we're supplied with pretty much everything we needed and fire wood was restocked daily if needed. Cooking on the Wood fired stove was a treat aswell, the fire itself was just amazing so cosy! The grounds and views were amazing and for the first time ever we felt confident enough to let the kids play out without direct supervision all the time as it's secluded and feels very safe. The owners Dan and Ellie were fantastic and really made such an effort with the kids and took the time to chat with them. The kids absolutely adored Dan! You now have best friends for life 🤣 Feeding the animals every morning was an amazing experience for the kids and will surely miss this tomorrow morning! We will be returning again!

What a fantastic place! A group of us stayed in one of the accessible safari tents (Enfys). The tent is west facing and provides great views of the sunset across the beautiful valley, in addition to it's location the tent is really well thought through and laid out the accessibility is excellent and includes a huge walk/wheel in wet room. The owners Dan and Ellie were pleasant, helpful and accommodating and the kids loved feeding the animals with them in the mornings. I can't recommend this place highly enough, get down there and enjoy a beautiful sunset and some of Dan and Ellie's great hospitality!

A friend and I spent the past weekend at Dan and Ellie’s little slice of heaven. We could not have asked for a better weekend, we were incredibly blessed with awesome weather but with our choice of accommodation too! Dan met us onsite as we arrived, explained everything thoroughly, helped us to our tent and then we were left in total peace - but always on hand if we needed him. He gave us a tour of the animals (Hippo the pig is a total highlight) and gave great local recommendations. The location is utterly stunning. The hottub was fantastic, and a total treat after our days of wild swimming and walking. The safari tent was SPOTLESS. Like, literally not a single grumble or complaint could be made, they’ve nailed it. Definitely take extra layers overnight. The duvets are excellent quality wool and there is a generous abundance of fire wood but it can still get very chilly (we doubled up with the other duvets since there was only two of us which was perfect) We will definitely be back and wish their little family all the best with Canvas and Campfires, they deserve every success. Thank you for the best weekend! X
