Silverdale sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by walking terrain, nature reserves, and the Lake District beyond. The RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve and Gaits Barrow Nature Reserve are on the doorstep. A 10-mile radius brings attractions including Leighton Hall, wildlife parks, and activity centres. Silverdale Golf Club is less than 200 yards away and welcomes visiting players. From here you can reach the Lakes by train.

Station Cottage occupies a unique position on Silverdale's railway platform, a fully refurbished modern property with two bedrooms and one bathroom, sleeping four. Downstairs, the kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and other appliances. The living and dining area is generously proportioned, with sofas facing out directly onto the platform—trains pass periodically. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a kingsize bed; the second has two singles. The bathroom includes a shower. A small courtyard outside has seating. Essentials including electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are covered. There is private parking for two cars on site. No smoking.
