What guests say
Well worth a visit. A quiet drink in relaxing surroundings or time in the bar are both good choices. The restaurant is excellent and the food exceptional. The hotel itself is so full of character, clean and well equipped It was a pleasure to stay. Probably the most overriding feature was the respectful and pleasant staff who made the stay a real treat.

It was during the heatwave. For the amount I spent on the stay I expected better service. The location was fab and breakfast service on my 2nd day. The day I was leaving less so. Some of the things at the buffet were very low as in 1 yoghurt left and fruit. Water needed topping up. I could have asked but for a 4 star hotel I shouldn't have too. Overall it was a pleasant stay but wouldn't recommend.

We visited The Feathers Hotel restaurant in Ledbury on 4th April 2026 and unfortunately left feeling very disappointed with both the food and overall experience. The total bill came to £109.56 for two people, which felt extremely poor value for what we received. What was even more frustrating was the addition of a service charge, which was not made clear to us beforehand. It honestly left us questioning what exactly we were being charged for. There was no table service to speak of—we had to find our own table, go up to the bar to order, and no one checked on us throughout the meal. Being charged extra for “service” in those circumstances feels completely unjustified and quite misleading. On arrival, we had to find our own table and go to the bar to place our order. The staff came across as unwelcoming and quite rude. In particular, my partner felt that the waiter who initially greeted us was confrontational and abrupt, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable. Throughout the visit, no one checked on us or asked how our meal was. We ordered two ribeye steaks, one with blue cheese sauce and the other with chimichurri. The wait for our mains was around an hour, which already set a negative tone. When the food did arrive, the plates were extremely hot, suggesting they had been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The food itself was very underwhelming. The chips were clearly frozen and had a dry, powdery texture inside. The steaks were not impressive at all, especially for the price—you would expect far better quality, even compared to a standard steakhouse. The blue cheese sauce was particularly disappointing; it tasted more like a watery packet cheese sauce rather than anything resembling blue cheese. To make matters worse, there were flies around the restaurant area, which further impacted the dining experience. There was no appreciation shown for our custom, and the overall atmosphere felt neglected. We also overheard staff mentioning that the menu had been reduced due to being short-staffed, which may explain some of the issues—but it doesn’t justify the quality of food or service we experienced. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit. Paying over £100 for substandard food, long wait times, and poor service—plus an unexplained service charge—is simply not acceptable. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return or recommend based on this experience.
