What visitors say
I love this place, been going here for a lot of years. I've left positive reviews previously, however have to remove and override them now. Fish and chips in a pub in the UK is a source of national pride. Don't order it here. My friend did and it is as pictured, it's a fish finger for £15. The chips are great, but we all felt for young Harry - it wasn't ok. The staff were a bit grumpy when he asked about it "that's a standard portion". They may have been asked too much. Please do go here it's got good beer and outdoor seating, but order something else. This is the only place I've kicked off about fish and chips in Britain, ever.

First time having Sunday Lunch.. Now im not a Sunday Lunch kind of girl but had to give the Lunch a go has heard good reviews. Started with the Calamari followed by Beef Topside. The Calamari was perfectly cooked, crunchy and tasted fresh. Beef Lunch came with 2 thixk slices of beef, carrots, broccoli, parsnips, red and white cabbage, roast potatoes and massive yorkshire pudding. It was delicious 😋 the y/pudding was gorgeous! The whole Lunch was delicious 😋 Husband had the marmalade gammon again his plate was clean nothing left!

So I love this place. Been going a while and you cannot fault the beer. Absolute amazing beer and well looked after. The staff are friendly and attentive but something has gone wrong in the kitchen. Went with a group recently and the Ploughman's had the plastic burger cheese instead of what was stated as cheddar on the menu. Somebody else got mouldy sourdough and another got a very dry veggie pie with cabbage that was more brown than green. It's so sad, maybe just an off day but I hope they sort it out. Gutted

Really delicious food! We got the brisket loaded fries, the brisket sandwich and the salmon sandwich, all of which were amazing. We went during Friday lunch and it was super quiet. Service was really friendly and quick. Loaded brisket fries in particular were really good value (£6) - the portion was so big I couldn’t even finish it.
