Family-run touring and glamping park in Horsforth, six miles from Leeds city centre

About St Helena's Caravan Park

St Helena's Caravan Park occupies a quietly rural spot on the northern outskirts of Leeds, tucked among fields in Horsforth yet just six miles from the city centre. It's a family-run site with a loyal base of returning visitors, drawn by the unusual combination of proper countryside feel and rapid access to both Leeds and Harrogate via the nearby A65 and railway line. Touring caravans, motorhomes and tents all pitch here alongside glamping pods for those travelling without kit, with electric hook-ups and shower blocks provided throughout.

The location is genuinely useful: Golden Acre Park and Adel Dam nature reserve sit within a short drive for woodland walks, while the city's restaurants and museums are fifteen minutes away. Leeds Bradford Airport is close enough to make this a sensible overnight before an early flight. Some visitors note the site can feel a little tired in places, though the welcome remains warm and the practicality of the spot—straddling Wharfedale's fringe and urban convenience—keeps people coming back.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for our first trip camping in our van and had a great experience. Access to the site was easy and we received a friendly welcome on arrival. The pitches were a good size, and the facilities were excellent — very clean and never too busy during our stay. The area itself was lovely and peaceful, with a nice walk to a nearby pub which was a bonus. The owners were especially friendly and helpful, even lending us a few items we’d forgotten in exchange for a charity donation, which we thought was a really thoughtful touch. We would definitely recommend this campsite and will certainly return in the future.

We stayed in the family field overnight, me and youngest child. It was a great setting, good set up and field with wildlife all around, good facilities within the field and good access to the car too for the inevitable trips back and forth. The kitchen and kettle was very useful and made morning coffee much easier and a bit of shelter from the rain. Very friendly and helpful service, the fire pit hire came with plenty wood to keep the fire burning all the time we needed it, and was a god send when sun went down! There’s a dog walking woods, where our spaniel had a great time as an added bonus!! Will definitely return!

Wonderful campsite, great value for money, immaculate site and facilities with great owners. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the glamping tents over bank holiday weekend and aside from the weather letting us down, we could not have been more impressed with the site and the lady on reception (Sally, I believe) was just lovely. We will be back.

Fantastic 2 night stop over in campervan. 16amp electric plug in. Good wifi and tv reception. Laundry , wash rooms , washup room, toilet empty room. Showers toilets a plenty ,a bathtub, no shortage of hot water, all very clean and fresh. Theres a 20 to 25 min walk to Fox and Hounds Pub in nearby village of Bramhope, via country paths from the site. Bramhope has a chippy and an Indian T/away. We had a meal at the pub, excellent food. Uber back to the site cost £3.50. Saturday we got Uber to Otley £7.42, great old market town buzzing like the 1970s, with no shortage of pubs and cafes. Well worth the day out. Definitely stay again at this site £55 for two nights. Dog friendly, theres a walk in the woods where dogs can run freely all fenced off.
