About Hinsley Hall
Tea and coffee available all day is the sort of detail that sums up Hinsley Hall: a straightforward, well-run hotel on Headingley Lane in Leeds that puts comfort before flourish. The building carries a period character while the rooms themselves are modern and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. A lift serves the upper floors, and the overall atmosphere is calm rather than lively.
Breakfast is a buffet spread with plenty of variety, and there's a bar on site along with a snack bar for anything lighter. Free WiFi runs throughout, and drinks can be brought to your room. Outside there's a garden, a picnic area and outdoor seating, useful for a quiet coffee or some fresh air away from the rooms. Meeting rooms are also available for those visiting on business. Free on-site parking is provided, which makes arriving by car straightforward.
The staff are consistently described as helpful and the setting as peaceful, making it a sensible base rather than a destination in itself. Nearby you'll find a golf course, pubs and bars, restaurants and other places to eat, plus entertainment options within reach, giving guests plenty to do beyond the hotel grounds.

Beautiful building and gounds. Lovely and quiet. Great location. Ample safe parking which is free. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Friendly staff. Very clean room. My only niggle was the furniture in the room reminds me of university halls. Very basic and with afew little changes it could be amazing.

If you need somewhere to stay near the YCCC, I would highly recommend Hinsley Hall. We were able to park all day during the game, returning later to check in. Our room was basic but meticulously clean, while the free breakfast was a real highlight. It's a calm oasis tucked away on its own grounds, too, so we had a great night's sleep. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great option to stay over when dropping children who are starting or finishing university. Rooms are clean, comfortable and good value. Friendly staff. Nice leafy grounds - a small oasis in the city. Headingly is a great location to access city, university and Lupton uni residences.

We booked through 'booking.com' at short notice as we needed a room for the night. We were 'blessed' when we arrived, as we only discovered then that Hinsley Hall is a conference centre/religious retreat for Catholic priests, as they were walking past us saying hello on our way to reception, and whilst not religious ourselves, it did make for an interesting stay. The Hall was lovely, imposing, with well maintained gardens. The rooms were basic but functionable. Small tv in the room and tea/coffee was serviced from a small room down the corridor. Bathroom was clean. Pillows were ace, really comfy. Breakfast in the morning was 9/10, full English buffet service. It was hot, tasty with meaty sausages, thick bacon, fresh eggs, hash browns and all the usual suspects on offer. Decent bread for toasting. Fruit and cereals on offer, cold and hot drinks. Did not have evening meal but I believe they do offer and a bar is open for drinks, with separate coffee and tea lounges. 10/15 min walk from city centre, or Headingley is on the doorstep with plenty of restaurants and bars and shopping delights. Or take time out and enjoy the peace and quiet of Hinsley Hall. Would we stay again?...yes.
