We had a wonderful experience on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway! We were a group of five (two couples and one baby), and it was a lovely day out. We bought return tickets, and the train journey was relaxing with beautiful views throughout the route. It was a hot, sunny day, which made the scenery even more enjoyable. There was plenty of parking available, making it easy to visit. Our baby's ticket was free. We also enjoyed browsing the gift shop at the station and picked up some lovely Lake District souvenirs. There are some nice attractions nearby as well. There's a park that's great for older children, while younger children can enjoy the small miniature train. We also enjoyed the nearby walking trails, which made the visit even more worthwhile. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District.

What a fab day out. A very pretty station and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The staff in the cafe were so much fun and really seemed to enjoy their work. Great customer service all round and the food was really tasty. There is a a children's play park and a short woodland walk at the station. The walk is steep so isn't suitable for wheelchairs and might be a stretch for very young children but that's clearly signposted. The train trip is short, around 18 mins but lovely, and nostalgic and I'm pretty sure most children with be excited entering the steamy tunnel. Guide books and children's activity books are sold on the train for £5. There's a cafe and an aquarium at Lakeside and the company do various boat trip packages. The views are amazing. I would recommend families do one of the package trips including boat trip with either an Aquarium or Beatrix Potter visit. Really a great day out for adults and children alike.

Great place to visit on your own or as a family. £12.50 return. There us a cafe on the platform and a gift shop. Staff fabulous friendly train conductor. The smell of the steam was lovely lol. There Alison also a bridge where you can stand and take photos from. Also a kids play area.

What a joy and delightful find. A ride on an actual steam train. Plenty of parking and cafe at the station (so worth a visit even if you don't go on the train!). The ride itself takes you through beautiful countryside with stunning views. We then got off and straight onto a boat for a tour of Lake Windermere. Highly recommend whether you remember steam trains from days of old or are experiencing travelling on one of them for the first time.
