What visitors say
What a wonderful little gem of a museum. Enjoyed a couple of hours in here today, children free, adults £5. The two staff were delightful, informed and very chatty with us. It is split across 2 floors with 5 or 6 different rooms to visit educating us all about Swaffham and its history. We will be revisiting

This is a good small town museum. While it's not the kind of attraction you're likely to travel for and has all the eccentricities you might expect, it is worth popping in if you're visiting the town. It's well kept and welcoming. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful too! There are a few rooms covering local history, a room full of finds from a local detectorist and – perhaps surprisingly – a room dedicated to the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb by former Swaffham resident Howard Carter. Don't expect the British Museum – but do expect a small civic museum done well. And a warm welcome!
