About Dunoon Hotel
The Dunoon Hotel occupies a Victorian building on Gloddaeth Street, a short walk back from the promenade in Llandudno's town centre, and has built a loyal following as an independent, family-run alternative to the larger seafront hotels. It is smaller in scale than its promenade neighbours, with a focus on personal service and a notably well-chosen wine list that has become one of its distinguishing features.
Rooms are traditionally furnished rather than boutique in style, and the hotel's restaurant and bar operate as much for return guests and locals as for overnight visitors, giving it a more settled, less transient atmosphere than some of the larger hotels closer to the sea front. Its position just off the main promenade means a short walk to the beach, pier and shops rather than a direct sea view from the building itself.
The hotel suits visitors who prioritise a well-run, independently owned stay with genuine personal attention over the scale and facilities of a full-service seafront hotel.
What guests say
I had an exceptionally pleasant stay in the Dunoon Hotel. Professional staff, that go the extra mile, one of the best nights sleep combined with a superb dinner. The wine list has the highest quality best value wines I have seen in 25 years of business and pleasure travelling. 10 year old, acclaimed Bordeaux’s Margaux, Pomerol etc at prices that I would struggle to find retail anywhere including the wine producer. Have a look on line. Jonathan

We had a decent weekend in Llandudno, and choosing the Dunoon Hotel made for the perfect base camp. We managed to find a great deal online for half-board. While the rooms themselves are a bit dated, they are clean and have all the basics you need. Honestly, with the hotel being so brilliantly located for exploring the town, you aren't really there to be cooped up in your room anyway. The cooked breakfast was always a nice way to start the day, and dinner made perfect sense after a long day of exploring. Thank you for the lovely memories in Llandudno.

My room was small but comfortable. Very clean. The reception were polite and helpful. Could do with a slightly bigger tv

Well what a find. Whoever did the refurbishment knew what they were soing they have kept the old world charm fused with modern clean lines, linen and finishes. Lovely hotel. If you are lucky there is free parking in front of the hotel . If not they do have their own parking lot at the back but we were able to park right out front. The breakfast was perfect to set us up for the day. Lovely location friendly staff and we shall be back.

Stately selection with traditional rooms, plus high-end dining, a cosy bar and a fireside lounge.
