About Merrion Hotel
Merrion Hotel suits those after a relaxed, no-fuss coastal break rather than a boutique city stay - think couples, families and older travellers who value comfort, good food and a bit of evening entertainment over design flourishes. Set on the Promenade in Llandudno, it puts guests right on the seafront with views out across the bay.
The 64 rooms are straightforward and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, family and accessible options, free WiFi, and room service, plus the option of drinks in the room or a packed lunch for a day out. There's a lift for guests who need it, and pets are welcome. Food is a strong point, with a well-stocked breakfast buffet and three-course dinners served in the restaurant, backed up by a bar and organised evening entertainment - the kind of full-board rhythm that suits a longer stay. Free on-site parking is provided throughout.
Outside the hotel, the North Wales coast offers walking and cycling routes, golf and fishing nearby, watersports along the shore, and a choice of pubs and restaurants close by for evenings out. It's a hotel built around comfort and value rather than luxury, and it delivers reliably on both.
What guests say
For the prices we expected better. We had a balcony room for 2 nights. 1st impression of the room was good till I looked a little closer. Cigarette buts on the balcony. Balcony doors filthy. Paintwork in room dirty. Bathroom was okay, but very outdated shower cubicle. However, the shower itself was powerful. The bed was very clean, very comfortable and so were the pillows. The public areas are generally clean, but outdated and in desperate need of sprucing up. Cooked breakfast wasn't great - cheap sausage, chunks of black pudding which were hard to chew and egg yolk hard. Definitely not worth the prices they charge considering you can get The Empire, with real luxury, cheaper

I used to take my mother to the Merrion. The rooms are immaculate. The two suites on the top floor are Luxurious.we stayed in the suite recently. Its very spacious. Worth paying the price, we had the last room. Pay the price and spoil yourself.
