Seafront hotel in Llandudno with 86 rooms, free parking and round-the-clock reception, handy for the Conwy coastline.
About Somerset Hotel
Rooms at the Somerset Hotel are straightforward and comfortable, giving guests a simple base rather than a luxury stay - there are 86 in total, though maintenance can be patchy so it's worth not expecting polish. What guests consistently value more is the seafront position, right on Llandudno's coastline, which makes up for any rough edges in the rooms themselves.
Breakfast is included, and the food on offer more broadly has had a mixed response - some find it perfectly decent, others less so. Free WiFi, luggage storage and a 24 hour reception cover the practical basics, and free on-site parking is a genuine plus for anyone arriving by car and wanting to explore the wider Conwy area without hunting for a space.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which counts for a lot given the hotel's straightforward, no-frills approach. The seafront setting puts Llandudno's attractions and the scenic Conwy coastline within easy reach, making the Somerset Hotel a practical choice for those who want good value and a great location over polished extras.

What guests say
The staff were helpful and friendly, but the hotel itself has gone downhill. The room was small and clean but I could just about get in the shower which was ridiculously small .The food was just about edible but the presentation was awful. Reminiscent of school dinners, just slapped on the plate. The lounge that was in front of the sea has been removed and is now part if the dining room. 1 small area for sitting in the reception and the quiet room only seated 7. The manager was new and was aware of the problems so hopefully might get sorted. The area around is lovely and quite flat so easy for walking around. It used to be such a lovely hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights recently. The hotel is on the seafront with amazing views if you have a room overlooking the bay. The hotel is part of the Daish's Group all of which need refurbishment but you get what you pay for. Staff are great, rooms cleaned daily, food is ok but don't expect Michelin Star! Waiting staff work hard, are polite and provide a very good service. Entertainment in the evening ( not for me) but quiz, bingo and singer every night. Hotel is a great location for seeing the area and walking.

Excellent hotel !!! Staff are amazing kind, and so helpful especially when there was a fire in one of the rooms and we had to locate to another hotel. This was done efficiently and with no fuss. The food is excellent and good value and the service we received from our little was brilliant she was so lovely. We are definitely coming back . Thank-you so much

This hotel is one of the Daish hotels. Generally does package coach holidays. I travelled by car with my parents.free car Park at back of hotel with a permit, that was a bonus !! My room was a single on 1st floor ,room 125. Very bijou, but clean and had everything i needed. I would recommend taking earplugs as that room is above the ballroom. Entertainment from 8pm- 11pm every night and is very loud. So if your not a night owl, take earplugs.....otherwise go and join in the fun ,you may win on bingo 🥳 or have a dance on dance floor 💃🕺 Breakfast and evening meal included in package....Great choice but basic. All staff are lovely 😍 If your a smoker, there's an enclosed seating area at the front of hotel. There is a lift upto 3rd floor and also separate lift down to carpark/rear of hotel. Location is absolutely fabulous. Right on the sea front.....long promenade with seating all along.....wonderful. Pier to the left with amusements and small stalls, selling anything from handbags to dog treats to hot do-nuts. Coffee shop at the end of pier. Beware of seagulls tho, would advise eating inside (my dad lost his ham sandwich 🤣). Llandudno has an amazing shopping centre only few mins away from hotel. We went just out of season,so we missed going on cable car to/from The Great Orme. So we drove up n the view was spectacular. Had a great stay and we would go back.
