About The New Alexandra Hotel
Nineteen rooms make up The New Alexandra Hotel, a modest-sized base on Clonmel Street in Llandudno, a short quarter-mile walk from the town centre. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities, and free WiFi runs throughout the property, useful for anyone working or streaming in the evenings. Family rooms are available, and pets are welcome, so this suits a range of travellers rather than one particular type.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar serving food that's built a solid reputation, along with a decent range of drinks. Breakfast is included, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. There's a garden and picnic area for warmer days, plus meeting rooms and wedding facilities for anyone planning an event. Laundry service and luggage storage cover the practical side of a stay. It's worth noting that while most rooms are kept clean and well-equipped, a few reports mention inconsistent upkeep, so standards can vary.
The Summit Complex is a nearby point of interest, and the surrounding area offers golf, fishing, watersports, cycling and walking routes, along with pubs and restaurants within easy reach. For the price, the combination of location, food and service makes this a practical choice for exploring Llandudno.

What guests say
We were honestly a little afraid to touch anything. The standard was… well, let’s just say that in Poland, you’d expect considerably more even from a cheapest roadside motel. If someone had told me this place had even one star, I might have asked to see the paperwork. 😉 The staff, however, were genuinely lovely. In the end, I liked the hotel entirely because of the people who worked there. Great location also.

This is the 1st time I've been to the Alex hotel and it was amazing. The staff were nice and our room was big.And most importantly, me and my family slept well. Our room was on the top,top floor and we got an amazing view of the city. I would go there again and I recommend more people to go there.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. I booked this hotel through booking.com but before I booked i rang to see if they had any twin rooms on the first floor, they said they would ask and get back to me,which they did and their answer was, yes they did so I booked it.... we arrived at the property, they couldn't find our booking, to only discover after 10 mins that we'd been upgraded to a family room, right on the top floor, I explained I had rang and asked if there was a twin on first floor, which we was told there was!! They had let them out, because they'd upgraded us, so there wasn't no twin rooms on first floor, I told them on the phone I had a knee replacement and could only do so many steps that's why I wanted the first floor. If they bothered to speak to one another they would have known this. They said they had got a twin and it wasn't on the top floor, it was on second floor!! And not many steps!! Well here's the problem, there's no rooms on the first floor anyway when we went up the first floor it was an office and other rooms just shut off. We went up a few more steps to find a load more steps, there was no way we could have got up them, so we went back downstairs to explain they returned our deposit of 50 for the dogs and the nightly rate for them. But because we had gone through booking.com we would have to get in touch with them. Which I did. They said they would get in touch with the property for a refund as booking.com had paid them.. Next thing I noticed the hotel had put on we didn't show up,so they cancelled it. So that makes them liar's has well. I messaged them to be told they wouldn't refund cause they couldn't sell the room at short notice. But that wasn't our fault has it wasn't the room we asked for anyway before we booked. They are the ones who gave us a different room,so a refund should have been given.. it wasn't just that as it wasn't clean, and nobody seem to know what they was doing. My advice would be to give this hotel a miss as they are liar's, and don't want to know...

I stayed here for 4 nights while in town on business and would again if the occasion presents itself. The location couldn't be better- right in the middle of town and only a short walk to the train station, stores, etc (bonus point for the Tesco express being only 5 minutes away). Everyone I dealt with were extremely helpful and patient with me and seemed to genuinely care. Room was clean and the bed was exceedingly comfy. Like, I'm not getting out of bed comfy. Only real note I have is with the water pressure being lackluster at times but that's to be expected with such an old building, just wait a few minutes and try again. The food downstairs was excellent and while I could imagine it getting loud, I didn't experience that during my stay. In short, this is a great hotel. It's not fancy, it's not really trying to be but if you're looking for a place to stay with plenty of character, good people, and a cozy atmosphere, this place feels like coming home.
