We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at Tower Hill Barns. It’s a great location if you’re doing the same. On arrival, we were greeted by Bronwen at the bar, who checked us in and made us feel welcome straight away. For convenience, we decided to eat and drink in the bar after arriving at around 7:30 pm rather than venturing elsewhere. As soon as we were seated, Bronwen explained that food might take a little longer than usual because a large birthday party had just placed their order. We really appreciated being kept informed, and she made sure our drinks were topped up while we waited. The first England World Cup game was also on the big screen, so we had everything we needed for a relaxing evening. Both the food and drinks were outstanding. Bronwen couldn’t do enough for us—even when I ordered at the bar, she asked us to take a seat and brought everything straight over. Such friendly, attentive service. Five stars from us for the food, drinks and, especially, Bronwen’s customer service. Back in our room, everything was spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom, with fresh towels provided. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and although the room is a little dated with traditional wooden furniture, it was perfectly suitable for our two-night stay. Our only complaint was the windows. They are single glazed, and because the hotel is located on a lively street with wine bars and cocktail bars nearby, there was quite a bit of noise and music until around midnight or the early hours. Also with cars passing by in the morning, you don’t get much quiet time. Overall, we had a lovely stay. The excellent food, comfortable room and outstanding customer service more than made up for the minor issue with outside noise, and we’d happily stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Gales last night as we were there to see David Gray at the Pavilion. We had a message about checking in which was straight forward even got a parking space round the back which was great as my husband has mobility issues. Room 4 was on the first floor which they had put us in after I emailed about his mobility which was great.the room was small double clean and had everything we needed. Even put fans in as extremely hot weather. We have to give Bronwen the bar manager a huge Thankyou for helping us out.she is a Star and a credit to Gales nothing was too much trouble for.Great Place Great Staff highly recommend

They charge £6 a pint and then give it to you in a plastic beaker like a 5yr old. The little redhead behind the bar has a disgusting attitude on her also she either needs to get some training or find a job where she's not dealing with public. I live local but I'll not bother going in again if the place has such disdain for it's customers. Didn't realise the pub trade was doing well enough to loose pay.
