About The Hand at Llanarmon

For travellers wanting to swap city noise for hills and hearty food, The Hand at Llanarmon makes a fitting base. Set in the Ceiriog Valley in Denbighshire, it's the kind of place suited to walkers, cyclists and anyone keen on a slower-paced few days, with mountain views on hand and the surrounding countryside open for exploring on foot or by bike.

The hotel has 13 rooms, several with views over the valley, and guests can expect a comfortable, welcoming stay rather than anything overly formal. There's a restaurant and bar serving breakfast and meals through the day, including a Sunday lunch and Welsh lamb that stand out for quality and value, plus kids' meals for families. A garden and outdoor seating area make the most of the setting, while a games room, spa and sauna, and hot tub give guests something to do beyond the walking trails.

Staff are consistently helpful and professional, and the atmosphere throughout is relaxed and friendly. Free WiFi, drinks available in the room, and free on-site parking cover the practicalities, while meeting rooms make it workable for small gatherings too. Fishing and watersports are available nearby, and with cycling and walking country right on the doorstep, it's a straightforward spot for getting outdoors.

Came here for sunday lunch whilst visiting a friend in the area. Its a lovely quiet location with free parking although limited but we arrived early. We had the 2 set course menu starter and main. The starters were very good and filling and was obviously home made. We all chose the Welsh beef for main and came with plenty of vegetables and fresh warm cooked bread. The meat was all cooked to good quality but one of the meals was slightly more bloody than the others, and one piece left, we were never asked how we like it but we all felt really full afterwards. The seat cushions could do with securing onto the chairs as they kept slipping forward off the chairs whilst sitting on them. Drinks all reasonable prices. We spent just over £100 for all 3 starters mains and drinks.

Just had a fabulous weekend at The Hand . We had 7 classic cars and we were offered a special spot to park - though the standard car park was excellent too! The rooms were great and the food was brilliant - frankly Michelin star good. Jackie and Jonathan were the perfect hosts and the experience was superb in all respects. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic place! Roads here are a pain but the actual place is amazing! Staff are friendly, locals at the bar great! The food!!! Omg the food is so good! We went for valentines weekend and stayed 2 nights. Bed is comfy, loads of storage space, bathroom is huge! Shower is a bit temperamental. Views are stunning. There is a hot tub but we didnt use it.
