About Glangwy Farm
Fishing, sailing and steam train rides, river walks and forest quests—after a stay on this quiet hilltop farm in Powys, you'll see why they say West Wales has it all.
Glangwy is a working farm near the River Wye, a mile from the village of Llangurig. On this hilly spot among the resident sheep and cows, with red kites circling overhead, you'll have ample space to take the air and plan your adventures. The site keeps things simple: hot showers, dogs welcome year-round, and you can park by your pitch. It's a five-minute drive to the pub and hot grub in Llangurig.
Llanidloes (10 minutes) has shops, supermarkets and a launderette if you're planning a long stay. This handsome town on the Severn is a super place for river walks and links up with Glyndwr's Way, a 135-mile route taking you through pastures, moors, forested lakes and reservoirs. If you've been intrigued by the calls of red kites over the farm, head to the feeding station at Rhayader (15 minutes); in the afternoons, a marvellous medley of buzzards, ravens and kites swoops and battles over the outdoor buffet.

What visitors say
Great spot. Very friendly and relaxed, nice facilities and we liked the ability to park in the meadow at the back which was super quiet for our visit. Lots of kites flying overhead. Dog friendly. £12 a night, we need more places like this. Easy 5*

A nice, quiet and friendly site. The toilets and other facilities were clean and tidy. There is a communal fridge and freezer located by the drinking water tap, should you need to use them. I had seen a review on here advising anyone under 30 to avoid the site, but as an under-30 myself, I just wanted to state that I found it very welcoming. The nearby stream is a lovely bonus, especially if you have a dog who likes to swim. The only things to note for those planning a visit are to bring bug repellent for the gnats (though this was my fault for pitching near the trees) and to bring a groundsheet that doesn't easily trap cut grass (again, my fault for being right against the perimeter of the field where the clippings couldn't be easily collected).

Great camping spot for walks and road access in mid wales. This is a working farm so expect whatever a working farm brings with it Sue(owner)is brilliant, very welcoming. EHU available, hot water to wash the pans, shower rooms with hot water shower. Clean toilets. Recycling points.

Lovely campsite! We had a peaceful night there and really appreciated the great facilities provided. We visited Hafren Forest the next day, which made it an even better trip. Would definitely recommend it if you’re camping in the area!
