What visitors say
I was looking for things to do on (what was supposed to be) a rainy day while staying nearby and found the reviews for Burrell Museum. It sounded like a great place to bring the kids to spend a few hours and it was! For 3 adults and 3 kids it was only about 26£ for the day and we were able to buy the tickets there at the entrance. We enjoyed all of the exhibits, the kids’ favorite was the interactive rotary phone display. They took turns calling each other and asking if we had the whole switchboard system in our houses when we were kids. Each building was chock full of displays and historical information about life in Burwell over the years. We enjoyed having tea and snacks in the tea room and chatting with the friendly ladies that worked there. 10/10 experience, definitely recommend for people and families with kids of all ages. They had very clean bathrooms as well. Only Disabled Parking is allowed right outside of the Museum, so we found street parking one street over and walked for 2 minutes through the cute neighborhood that surrounds it.

Arrived late, but welcomed and given a great tour. Would repay a much longer visit than we had time for, do check opening times on line. The exhibits are fantastic, and capture the soul of this lovely village up to the 1970s.

Lovely place to visit; I took three of my children so I paid £15 for the family ticket (two adults two children). A lovely lot of history, well presented in several small buildings. Lots to intrigue and lots to see and read. We particularly liked the telephone exchange which was a great bit of fun for us- watching my boys trying to dial the phone numbers was funny! Tea room, good toilets, nicely kept and a good couple of hours spent - glad we visited Thank you to the staff

A charming local museum, a great way to spend half a day. There is quite a lot to see, including local buildings, machinery and clothing, and of course the windmill! You can only go to the ground floor unless on a tour but just looking at it is interesting. There is a free carpark a few minutes walk away (very close), but just be aware you can't park on site - the location is on their website. Also enjoyed a tea in the tearoom, the staff were all very friendly.
