What visitors say
Chiswick House and Gardens – A Perfect Family Escape in West London We visited Chiswick House and Gardens on a gloriously sunny day, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The kids absolutely loved it — running around the vast lawns, exploring the paths, and spotting ducks on the lake. There’s plenty of space for them to burn off energy, with a playground for the little ones and endless nooks for adventure. The scenery is breathtaking. This 18th-century Palladian villa, surrounded by 65 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, feels like stepping into a painting. Inspired by classical Roman and Italian designs, you’ll find elegant temples, statues, cascades, a charming kitchen garden, and sweeping lawns dotted with ancient trees. The formal gardens blend seamlessly with wilder woodland areas, creating a perfect mix of structure and natural beauty. It’s an absolute dream for photography. With the perfect blue-sky weather, every angle popped — golden sunlight filtering through the trees, reflections on the water, the grand house against vibrant flowerbeds, and hidden architectural gems around every corner. I couldn’t stop snapping pictures! What struck me most was the incredible sense of calm. Despite being in busy West London, the gardens feel like a peaceful sanctuary that truly heals the soul. Wandering the paths, listening to birdsong, and soaking up the serene atmosphere washed away the stresses of everyday life. It’s the ideal spot for a relaxed family picnic, a thoughtful stroll, or just sitting on a bench to breathe it all in. Highly recommend visiting, especially on a sunny day when everything shines. The gardens are free to enter daily (what a treat!), with the house open on select days. Pack a picnic, bring the camera, and prepare to leave feeling refreshed. Perfect for all ages — we’ll definitely be back! 🌳✨

Limited parking spaces that are shared with users of the adjacent paddle tennis courts. Only park in designated areas or u will get a ticket and plenty of tickets were issued. The cafe is a well designed building unlike the timber clad shacks in Richmond Park.

It is one of the most luxurious and opulent places ever built in the UK. The house is packed with an impressive amount of artwork and some very nicely decorated chambers. The gardens are also impressive and very well maintained. It's definitely worth paying a visit and enjoying a nice day in nature.
