About Cheshire Hotel
Great Russell Street sits amid London's museum and theatre district, and the Cheshire Hotel occupies a spot on this central stretch, close to Charing Cross. With 40 rooms, it offers a manageable, straightforward base for exploring the capital, with comfortable beds a consistent point in its favour, though some rooms show their age and could do with freshening up.
Guests have access to a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast, free WiFi and air conditioning throughout. The hotel also runs to an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa/sauna, plus a garden, making it a reasonable choice for those wanting a bit more than a bed for the night. Business services, concierge assistance and lift access add further convenience, and the property also serves as a wedding venue.
Free on-site parking is available, a genuine plus in central London. Beyond the hotel, the surrounding streets offer plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, and Chessington World of Adventures is noted as a local point of interest for those looking further afield.

What guests say
This was a terrible experience at this hotel. No air conditioning. The fan required keeping the window open all night with the loud homeless people yelling below. One lift didn't work. They only provided one towel for the bathroom for hands and body. The room wasn't neatly put together with the table askew. One outlet wasn't working. There were clearly missing pictures from the walls, because you can see the outlines. I ended up switching hotels and paid for both. They didn't send me a folio even though I specifically asked and gave them my email.

I stayed here by myself for one night for a concert. The employees here were kind and friendly. I paid £174 for a single bed room with no window (pricey but that’s London on a bank holiday weekend for you!) The room itself suited me for one night but I’m not sure any longer would have been okay. The bed was uncomfortable and very creaky in a cheap sounding way. The room is cheaply decorated and cleaned. It was by no means dirty but also appeared run down and in desperate need of some maintenance. The plug outlets were not attached properly to the wall and would tug out of the fixture when pulling a socket out. Also the bathroom sink tap came loose from the sink when you turned it off. I was on the underground floor which was quiet and made it easy to sleep. It was in a convenient location just off of Tottenham Court Road meaning it worked well for tube access and it really close to central London. However, given the opportunity I would definitely look to stay somewhere else in future (especially for the price I paid)!

Location is what this place has going for it. The service was good. The accommodations were small. My room was clean enough, but not well maintained for what it was (damaged light fixtures, stain on the ceiling, climate control that didn't seem to work, and a lack of adequate workspace, among other things). The price seems higher than expected for what is provided. Good location for my conference and adequate Internet, but hardly a place that I could recommend to other travelers unless I am seriously misguided about what things cost in London. Again, service at front desk was excellent, but the hotel itself was underwhelming.

Terrible weekend will be going to trading standards shortly as advertised air con for a friend flying in from abroad no such thing in the hotel !!!! Ask for a refund to check into another hotel said if we checked out, we would lose the whole lot of the money. Are you joking? False advertising at its finest Don’t bother trying to delete it off your advert who we booked it with as we have photo shoots of it I have a day free This week which I will be concentrating on getting all the correspondence to trading standards and the relevant people it would’ve been so easy to sort this as you admitted it was your fault. I would probably suggest putting this right before I start my correspondence as I will be also looking for paying for the time and effort as well as the hour and a half. We were on the phone with agoda
