About Coronation Hotel

Earls Court and Kensington are both within easy reach of the Coronation Hotel, with underground links close by for getting around the rest of London. The surrounding streets offer plenty of pubs, restaurants and everyday amenities, making the square a practical base for exploring the capital without relying on taxis.

The hotel itself has 29 rooms and includes an on-site restaurant and bar, along with an indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna. Breakfast is served daily, and facilities extend to free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden, and meeting rooms for those combining business with sightseeing. Porter and concierge services are available, along with valet parking and free on-site parking for drivers, plus laundry and luggage storage for longer stays.

It's a straightforward, reasonably priced option in a convenient part of London, though it's worth knowing that service can be slow to respond and some rooms have been reported as under-maintained. Guests looking for a central location on a budget may still find it does the job, particularly with the tube on the doorstep.

A mosquito infested area. Dirty hotel. Nasty odor smell half the time. Simple air freshener and daily cleaning could have resolved this. There was only one cleaner and she was hardly about. My room also had a lot of bed bugs. I got bitten multiple times. After 3 days at the hotel I complained about the poor condition, bed bugs etc...and then checked out a day early.

Stayed at the Coronation Hotel for the final leg of our UK trip, and unfortunately it was by far the worst accommodation we experienced. The room was extremely small, poorly maintained, and lacking basic comfort. Cleanliness was a major concern, particularly in the bathroom, which appeared neglected and below acceptable standards. The room was also uncomfortably hot, with the air conditioning not functioning during our stay. The hallways had a strong mildew smell, and the property generally felt dated and in need of significant refurbishment. The windows could only be partially opened, which did little to improve ventilation, and with summer approaching, this made the room even more uncomfortable. Had the stay not been fully prepaid, we would have seriously considered moving elsewhere. The only positives were the convenient location, approximately 260 metres from the station, and a reasonably reliable Wi-Fi connection. Overall, a very disappointing experience that did not meet even modest expectations. The only reason they get 1 star is because there is nothing lower on google review.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel because there were bed bugs in my room. I was bitten multiple times during my stay, and dealing with the aftermath has been incredibly stressful. After returning home, I had to thoroughly inspect, clean, and isolate all of my luggage and belongings to make sure I didn’t bring the infestation with me. We tried to communicate with hotel staff but there was no one at the reception any time. After leaving, we contacted the hotel by email to request a refund. Instead of taking our complaint seriously, they denied that there was any bed bug problem in the hotel. They also refused to refund even the nights we did not stay after checking out early because of this issue.

Honest Complete Review - Room 106 3 nights end of April 2026 After having booked the wrong dates for a non refundable hotel last week, I needed a last minute hotel that was affordable yet private with its own bathroom. This was the best one I found that wasn’t a hostel. I quickly glanced at the reviews and it seemed alright , but it was only on my way there that I read them more carefully and noticed all the bedbug warnings. I was terrified but didn’t have a choice. In the end , I didn’t notice any bedbugs after inspecting my room. I asked about it during check-in and the guy told me they were taken care of. So that being said , if you really need something affordable and can manage a small room that is definitely in need of a deep clean and minor repairs, this is perfect. Negatives 1. Biggest issue for me was that they dont hold luggage, which I didnt see when I booked. I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel if I had. Checkout was at 10am but my flight wasn’t until 6pm so that was disappointing. Ended up using a luggage storage service around the corner. 2. Theres no one present at reception, even after 2pm when check in is open. Contacted the hotel via whatsap and they sent someone. 3. I had to buy a cheap pair of flip flops to use the shower, black mold was present. 4. Cleanliness is lacking for sure. Dust everywhere, gross shower, rusty hinges, walls are chipping and peeling. It’s unfortunate because a few minor replacements and a fresh coat of paint could really make a big improvement. 5. Hair dryer wasn’t working well, no ironing board. Maybe there was something I could have borrowed but no one was ever at reception 6. My room was right next to the stairs and I could hear people often. This wasn’t a big issue for me but it might be for others. 7. The door locked on its own but I would have appreciated an indoor lock for extra security. 8. There was only a small space heater for heat, wall thermostat didn’t work. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold. 9. There was a coffee tea machine but I was too scared to use it , very dusty 10. The room had an unpleasant odour but I could open the window and that helped Positives 1. Location Location Location ! Quick walk to the subway. 2. The room itself is small but layout is fine, could even be cute if minor improvements were made. I only slept here and showered once. 3. Bed and towels were clean. Bed comfort was decent, I slept well. 4. Small closest with a few hangers 5. Front door was locked after 10 but my key had a key fob to open the door after Summary : Would I stay here again? For the location and price, I very hesitantly say yes. (Armed with flip flops for the shower..)
