About Grenville Hotel

Seventeen rooms and free on-site parking put the Grenville Hotel in an unusual position for a hotel this close to central London, where parking is often the hardest thing to find. The property occupies a converted townhouse on Guilford Street, within reach of Bloomsbury and King's Cross, and keeps things straightforward: a place to sleep, eat and store your bags without fuss.

Guests get a continental breakfast included, free WiFi throughout, and use of a garden and on-site bar and restaurant. Laundry service and luggage storage are available for longer stays or awkward travel days, and the hotel also hosts weddings. It's a budget setup rather than a polished one, and the accommodation is best described as functional.

Outside the front door, Bloomsbury and King's Cross offer pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy walking distance, making the Grenville a practical base for exploring central London rather than a destination in itself.

Great for GOSH. Staff were great, saved us a room in case we needed a 3rd night. Rooms have a step up step down bathroom with shower. It is great for an overnight stay on a budget.

The hotel was very dirty, with serious hygiene issues, including bugs in the room. I had booked for three nights, but I had to leave after the first night because of the conditions.

The price per day should be around £40; anything approaching £60 per day is too expensive and does not match the facilities provided. “Accommodation is extremely overpriced on Booking.com and other platforms.”

Quite frankly the worst hotel I've ever been too. The dirtiness was shocking. Stains and grime over every surface and not a case of wear and tear to an old building, just grime and filth. Lights hanging out of sockets, limescale in the toilet, sticky residue on the furniture and grubby prints over door handles and light switches. The managers response 'we are a 2 star Hotel, you should have read the reviews' - absolutely mortifying. The manager responded that they change the bedding between guests, as if that was something they were doing out of the goodness of their hearts. When I asked for a refund, they said they did not have the money and therefore could not refund and to contact the booking agent. We contacted the booking agent who had to speak with the hotel manager to authorise the refund and she refused!!!!! I have read that they charge for WiFi, that there all inclusive breakfast is just toast, cereal and tea/coffee. So I expected the bare minimum for the hotel. But I did not expect a risk to my physical health. The nonchalant attitude around the cleanliness of the room and defending themselves by reminding me that they are a 2 star hotel, was equally as gross as the yellowing curtains with holes and the stale smell eminating from the hallways. Avoid at all costs.
