A full English breakfast starts the day at Haven Hotel, a straightforward Victorian townhouse hotel near Hyde Park and Paddington Station.
About Haven Hotel
A cooked breakfast each morning is the mainstay at Haven Hotel, served alongside the usual options for those who prefer something lighter, and there's a bar on site for a drink later in the day. It's a simple, no-frills base rather than a destination in itself, but it covers the basics reliably.
The hotel occupies a Victorian townhouse on Sussex Gardens in central London, with 35 rooms fitted with air conditioning and free WiFi, plus drinks available in room. There's a lift for guests who'd rather skip the stairs, a small gym on site, and a garden for some outdoor space in an otherwise built-up part of town. The property also takes on weddings, and free on-site parking is available, which is a genuine rarity this close to central London.
The location puts Hyde Park and Paddington Station within easy reach, and the surrounding streets have plenty of pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evenings out. It's a practical choice for anyone wanting a straightforward stay near the park and the station, rather than a luxury break.
What guests say
Great budget hotel, close to buses, metro and walking distance to Hyde Park and major attractions. Room is small but well appointed. You have to leave your room key with reception each time yiu leave, which is unusual, but most likely to reduce lost keys. No problem for us though.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This hotel was absolutely disgusting, and genuinely had me fear for my own safety. I've never had the need to check a hotel room for hidden cameras, but as soon as I stepped foot inside, I knew straight away, that it would be a good idea to check. I ended up leaving, after 10 minutes, after booking a nearby hotel, even though the cost was more than double to book another hotel, (without getting a refund) but I couldn't bare a minute more in this decayed, outdated, gross, unkempt disorganised place. The elevator was tiny, and you could only fit 2 people inside. The hallways were covered in a filthy old red carpet that was covered in dirt, and coming up on the edges, yet the rooms itself had hardwood floor. There's gaps under the door, which meant that there's no privacy, and anybody could hear you from anywhere. The rooms were also very tiny. But now having read the other 1 star reviews, it seems like this hotel also has a lot of thievery happening frequently, which the hotel does nothing to help. Which makes me think if they are actually in on it themselves, to get some extra money, considering nobody would want to come back and give their money to this hell hole of a place. Not Haven Hotel, no. Hell Hotel. Heed this warning 🙏

Helpful and friendly staff, great location, amazing value and close to lots of central London areas. They have wifi in the hotel, 24 hour staff, amazingly clean rooms and didn't even need a credit card hold to check in. If you just want a place to sleep as you explore London in detail, Haven is great. There's a lovely little pub, the Monkey Puzzle, down the street, restaurants nearby, coffee places up the road and anything else you could want within a short walk.
