About Ibis London Docklands Excel
A good breakfast spread and an easy-going bar set the tone at Ibis London Docklands Excel, a 278-room hotel on Western Gateway by the Royal Victoria Docks. Beyond the morning buffet, there's a restaurant and snack bar for guests who'd rather not venture out, and pubs and eateries can also be found nearby for evenings out.
Rooms are straightforward and en-suite, spread across eight floors with a lift for easy access, and accessible rooms are available. Some guests have found the housekeeping inconsistent, so it's worth flagging any issues at check-in if cleanliness matters to you. Practical extras include luggage storage, laundry service, an electric vehicle charge point and chargeable on-site parking, and pets are welcome.
The location is the hotel's strongest card, sitting close to ExCeL London and with good public transport links into the rest of the city, making it a sensible base for events or exploring the Docklands area. Staff are consistently mentioned as friendly and helpful, adding to the ease of a stay here.

What guests say
We had a very friendly welcome and received excellent service overall including a lovely room overlooking the river. Thank you especially to Azzy and his colleague for great service. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The shower was spacious and the water was always hot. There were USB charging sockets next to the bed and extra pillows. We had dinner there. Both the lasagne and the fish pie were excellent. A minor negative: the night stands are very small We are looking forward to returning soon.

I had a fantastic stay at the Ibis Hotel . The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Everything was well organized, and the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. A very special thank you to Nelo and Malcom, who were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. They were always available, friendly, and genuinely kind, making sure everything went smoothly. Their professionalism and positive attitude really made a difference, and they are a real credit to the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again, Nelo and Malcom, for your outstanding hospitality—I will definitely be back!

We came up to stay for a gig at the O2. It was a really great location! The staff have been really friendly & very helpful. The food was also very tasty! The room was also clean, adequate room & a great shower! We would like to do a special mention to a really lovely lady called Labake. She came over to check on our food, clear our table promptly & and was interested in talking to us about our stay. We don’t live in such a busy city, and we know hospitality is notoriously busy, but she took the time to come and ensure we were happy with everything in the hotel. We would happily stay here again in the future!

This Ibis is spectacular. Definitely deserves 5 stars. The rooms are brilliant, very spacious but cozy at the same time. Beds are comfortable with a big television directly in front. The wardrobe comes with 6-10 hangers very ideal for short stays and even long ones. The room comes equipped with a hairdryer, iron box and ironing table, coffee maker, kettle and many more. Staff are very polite and nice, our attendee at the register,Azzy, was very nice and helpful doing enough to make sure that nothing would go wrong on our trip. The location is amazing!!! Just a 5 minute walk away from the Custom House train station. Rooms that overlook the Thames and the O2 arena are jawdropping. Many attractions nearby the hotel which are really fun. Would highly recommended this hotel for anyone!!!
