Another smart, comfy and well-appointed Novotel, in a great location for my overnight business stay. I have come to enjoy the consistency of Novotel; always smart, clean and practical. This one was no exception, save for a few very minor points. On arrival the reception desks were manned by just one member of staff, meaning that I had to wait over 15 minutes before I could check in. The member of staff was very friendly and apologetic but there should have been more staff at reception, especially early evening when I arrived. The bar / restaurant team were quite transactional and not particularly engaging like some I have encountered in the past. No complaint, other than a smile and a little more interaction would go a long way. The terrace overlooking the river is a very nice feature and a lovely area. Food was excellent. My Buddha Bowl salad was fresh and very tasty. My executive room was fantastic and really well-appointed. Only two small issues. The shower was stocked with the usual Rituals toiletries, but in mine I had 2 shower gels and 1 conditioner (no shampoo!). It was not a big issue as I did have some of my own but clearly this was an oversight by housekeeping. Also, although very stylish, the in-room sink design is such that you can barely fit your hands under the tap, let alone fill up the kettle from it! Very first world issues, of course, but worth noting in the spirit of being a fair and accurate review. Check out was very swift but I was not asked if I had enjoyed my stay and whether everything had been satisfactory. Overall, a very good stay and I would stay again.
