About Sonder Kensington Gardens
Prince of Wales Terrace is a calm, tree-lined street tucked just behind the green expanse of Kensington Gardens, with Hyde Park and Kensington Palace within easy walking distance. Sonder Kensington Gardens occupies this address, offering a quiet and safe base despite sitting close to the shops, restaurants and transport links that make this part of London so easy to get around.
Rooms are set up in an apartment style with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, though some are on the compact side compared with what the listings suggest, so it's worth keeping expectations realistic if space matters to you. A lift serves the building, and practical touches like luggage storage and a laundry service make it a sensible choice for longer stays. Staff are on hand through a concierge service, and breakfast draws particular praise for its range of options.
Beyond the hotel itself, pubs, bars and restaurants are all within reach nearby, alongside other entertainment options, so evenings can easily be spent exploring on foot. It's a well-placed spot for anyone keen to be near the parks and palace without straying far from everyday conveniences.

Great price & performance hotel which achived my expectations. If you expect a large room and big comfort this might not be the right place but If you’re like me spending the whole day outside and just come back to sleep its the perfect stop. First of all they have AC in each room which was great. The room is small and the shower might be too tight for people over 1.80. The location is amazing and just a few walks away from the park and also from the bus stop to make it to the city centre like Piccadilly Circus. Also there are a lot of shops nearby like Zara, Bershka. The location is quiet and there was no noise at night. The staff was very very polite and friendly and special thank you to Mohamed who was always there in any need. Overall I say I can recommend this place and will stay again in my next visit.

Very nice little boutique hotel in Kensington. I stayed here for one night in a single room, and it was really clean - a little bit dated but that didn't matter to me as the cleanliness is the main factor for me. Located 10 minutes away from High Street Kensington tube station, the location is very convenient. If you are a solo woman traveller, I felt safe walking down the high street at 1am as I stayed here to go to a concert at Wembley Stadium. I'd stay here again if I was travelling solo!

I really enjoyed my stay at Kensington House Hotel. The area around the hotel was one of my favorite parts — very quiet, clean, and peaceful, especially compared to the busier parts of London. It felt safe and relaxing, and the location was still very convenient for getting around the city. Also wanted to give a special mention to Loay at reception. He was genuinely very helpful and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He always had a positive attitude and was happy to help with anything I needed, which made the stay feel much more personal and comfortable. Overall, it was a really nice experience and I’d happily stay there again.

15-16 Prince of Wales Terrace, London W8 5PQ SUMMARY: Sewer line backing up into shower pan! DO NOT STAY HERE! Wow. Where to begin. We got to the hotel about 3p on Monday 6/22/2026. They showed us a room on the ground floor that was stinky. We asked for a different room, were given 304. The high point was the strong A/C -- only installed 1-2 weeks previously. There were three windows on one wall with shades that did not operate -- all the threads were broken. The beds were soft. But the worst problems was the bathroom -- toilet, sink, and shower. We noticed that when we flushed that toilet that first night, water burbled up from the shower drain. If you ran the sink water -- which flowed at high volume -- water backed up in the shower. I left a written note on Tuesday morning -- the tiny front desk was not manned -- describing the problem. I got back late from dinner on Tuesday, same guy said problem fixed. No difference. I left another written note on Wednesday morning, warning they would have a serious sewer backup problem if not addressed. Saw same front desk guy that evening. No improvement. I did not bother with a note on Thursday. As I predicted, on Friday morning, my shower was gurgling -- water from another room, and backed up, with fecal matter (e.g., shit). I did not dare shower, and left the room about 8:00 a.m. to avoid a likely sewer backup flood. A serious health hazard. And the phone numbers posted in the lobby did not work. REMOVE THIS LISTING! --Ben, from Seattle, I have been to 60 countries, the worst hotel experience ever, including all sorts of poor countries/cities in Africa!
