About St Mark Hotel

Rooms at St Mark Hotel come fitted with air conditioning and free WiFi, and come with the practical basics guests need for a straightforward stay in London: comfortable beds, a modern finish, and a tidy, well-kept feel throughout. The hotel has 25 rooms in total, set within a townhouse building at 4 Barkston Gardens.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast service, a gym, an indoor swimming pool, and a garden. The hotel also has meeting rooms and can host weddings, plus concierge services, luggage storage and a laundry service for guests who need them. Free on-site parking is available, which is worth noting for a central London property.

West Brompton is under a mile away, useful for those relying on public transport, and there are pubs, restaurants and other places to eat close by. Some guests have noted issues with deposit returns and inconsistent staff service, so it's worth confirming payment terms at check-in. The location and room quality remain the main draws for a stay here.

SCAM HOTEL. BE WARNED. THEY WILL ATTEMPT TO STEAL YOUR 100 pound deposit. All the positive reviews ARE FAKE.I couldn't rank this hotel any lower. Arthur at the reception is the worst human you will ever encounter. He didn't even check the room and said "Oh, there's rubish, no refund sorry". They won't allow anyone to even enter your room. You can ask the hotel next door "The Barkston" (WHO YOU SHOULD GO TO INSTEAD), they have problems all the time with him. The rooms are also small and cramped. I'm pretty sure it's a mafia front so be very careful. All the employees are terrified of him. Location is good is the only upside.

The location of the Hotel is perfect, a lot to see around, beautiful neighborhood, nice places to eat and a very close to Earls Court station. The room is comfortable, clean and well equiped, same for the bathroom. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay there again!

This has been the worst experience of my life. I was the subject of horrific racism, the manager was cruel, rude and incredibly hostile. He tends to steal security deposits and will not allow a guest of the guests to even enter the premises for 5 minutes. I was waiting for a home doctor as I’d been incredibly unwell and he wouldn’t allow her in at all. I had been vomiting throughout the night and urgently needed care and was instead given treatment I wouldn’t wish on my enemies. He made a remark about “dark people” like me and that “we” are entitled. He threatened us multiple times, and as someone with a disability, I had hoped he’d have some compassion. The horrible Google reviews are entirely accurate. Stay at the Barkston or Presidential next door, much better service, no crappy wifi and bad reception. Save your money, dignity and peace.

The hotel was fantastic, with smiley staff who facilitated luggage storage service and early check-in, and clean, modern rooms with very nice bathrooms for a very reasonable price. The area is lovely and safe, with excellent public transport connections to Earls Court/Gloucester Road stations less than 5 minutes away by foot: many attractions are within walking distance.
