About The Lilac Door

Breakfast is included every morning at The Lilac Door, a relaxed adults-only B&B set in an Edwardian house in West Norwood, London. It's the kind of place where mornings are unhurried, and guests can take their time before heading out for the day.

There are just three rooms, each individually and warmly furnished with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in-room. Free WiFi runs throughout, and the garden offers a quiet spot to sit outside. Practical extras include luggage storage, laundry service, 24-hour reception and free on-site parking, making it straightforward for guests arriving by car or needing help either side of a longer stay.

The location puts Dulwich Park and Herne Hill within easy reach, and the surrounding area has pubs, restaurants and cycling routes nearby, along with golf and horse riding for those wanting to venture further. It's a small, personal set-up rather than a large hotel, suited to guests who want a quiet base with a proper breakfast rather than extensive facilities.

What an amazing stay! Myself and my colleagues stayed here last week while attending training in London. Prices were really competitive for the area, and this place stood out as one of the cheaper options. The whole house is stunning, with amazing decor inside and out. We were treated by the lovely owner, who was so incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay. She was the highlight of our stay, and the reason why we have booked the next 2 training courses with her! The bedrooms were spacious and well suited for us, and were full of items we would use on our stay, such as toiletries, refreshments, fans/heaters, and so much more. The toilets/showers were the best, with the rain shower being the best I've used! The lilac door is also perfectly situated, being near a amazing pub and amazing breakfast place, which made our stay easier. The 15% off voucher for the breakfast was also fantastic and appreciated. Overall, very impressed, and already looking forward to staying again soon.

A really lovely two night stay at The Lilac Door! Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, as well as the most comfortable bed that I’ve slept in away from home. My room was very well appointed and my bathroom was beautiful! The host was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely, clean home, and the room I stayed in was the same. Jane was very welcoming, going out of her way to make me comfortable. Breakfast was thoughtful and well presented. Would definitely stay again or recommend.
