About The One Tun

The One Tun occupies a traditional pub building on Saffron Hill, the kind of London boozer with a proper bar downstairs and just eight rooms tucked above it. That scale means a personal feel rather than a hotel one, with 24 hour reception and concierge services on hand despite the modest room count.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, and breakfast is served on site along with meals from the restaurant and bar below. Guests also have use of luggage storage and a laundry service, useful for anyone passing through the capital rather than settling in for long. Downstairs, the pub itself is part of the appeal, known for showing televised sport on a large screen and for its well-filled jukebox, with a Thai cafe adding another dining option nearby.

The location on Saffron Hill puts guests close to Farringdon, a short distance away, with further bars, restaurants and entertainment all within easy reach on foot. It suits travellers who want a characterful, no-frills base in central London rather than a large hotel with extensive facilities.

Great location near the station and excellent AC made staying during the London heatwave very comfortable. The manager was so kind, and the experience at the pub was top-notch. Since the pub closes around 11 PM, there was no noise issue at all. It was affordable and truly a fantastic stay.

Comfortable bed, great air conditioning, fantastic staff, very welcoming and helpful. Nice bathroom with a terrific shower. We enjoyed our patio for morning coffee and an evening glass of wine. Had dinner one night and it was great. The attentive staff move this up from 4 to 5 stars. Would happily stay there again. No noise complaints on our visit.

The service couldn't have been better. The rooms were nice. The location was interesting. I was expecting more of an English pub and the area was a bit quieter but once we walked around we found other pubs and restaurants all over, so the best of both worlds. Then we ate at One Tun and the food was great too!

This was a fabulous place to stay. Kev and Dan were more than kind and went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. The room was very large and so comfortable. Everything was clean and well taken care of. There is no elevator so they stored our large luggage downstairs for us, which was so nice. They helped us with directions and made suggestions for transportation. We ate dinner in the pub and it was excellent.
