Adults-only pub rooms in London's Docklands near Canary Wharf and the Thames, above a genuinely cosy local with great pizza.
About The Ship Inn
Guests at The Ship Inn walk straight into rooms set above a working pub, with drinks available in room and the option of breakfast to start the day. This is adults-only accommodation, so it suits couples and friends looking for a straightforward, comfortable base rather than families. Free WiFi, laundry service and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, while luggage storage makes arriving early or leaving late easy to manage.
Downstairs, the pub itself is the real draw. It has built a reputation for freshly made pizzas with a good range of choices, including vegan options, backed up by a solid selection of drinks at the bar. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy, closer to a proper local than a hotel restaurant, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. There's a garden for sitting outside, plus entertainment on site for evenings that run on.
The location puts guests in London's Docklands, within reach of Canary Wharf and the Thames, with further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for exploring beyond the property. It works well as a low-key, well-priced stay with good food and drink on the doorstep.

Popped in for a pint after looking at a cruise ship, all with in walking distance, lovely local pub, saw several people also pop in to buy pizzas to take away, which is apparently their speciality, I sat at the bar talking to a very knowledgeable lady behind the bar who knew everything about the history and local area, stayed for an additional 4 pints! A classic and enjoyable London pub experience

A proper neighbourhood pub with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. It feels very much like a genuine local rather than many of the touristy pubs across the river in Greenwich. I dropped by during a long riverside walk and the pizza was excellent - just what was needed with a pint. A great place to pause if you’re exploring the Isle of Dogs.

Avoid – Rooms Not Ready and Poor Customer Service We booked this hotel for a stay in London and unfortunately had a very poor experience from the moment we arrived. When we got there, the hotel wasn't even open, so we were left waiting outside. Once inside, the staff member barely acknowledged us and seemed more interested in switching TVs on than checking us in. The whole place felt dated, unclean and had a musty smell. The stairs and floors were visibly dirty and looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The biggest issue came when we were shown to our room. The staff member opened the door, looked inside and casually said it wasn't ready. He then opened another room and said that one was filthy too. There was no real apology, no sense of urgency and no attempt to make the situation right. He spent more time looking at his phone than dealing with the problem. We were offered the option to leave our bags while they sorted things out, but given the state of the hotel and the lack of professionalism, we weren't comfortable doing that. As we were on a tight schedule for a concert and had plans booked, we couldn't afford to wait around indefinitely, so we requested a refund and booked elsewhere. Overall, the hotel appeared dirty, disorganised and poorly managed. The complete lack of apology or concern for the inconvenience was particularly disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.

Went to the ship with friends as we had been told about the amazing pizza that are freshly made on the premises. It was a wow from me and mine. The pizzas are amazing, with great selection of choices to suit all pallets. The drink options were good and the pub has a great team who were friendly and very helpful, great location, nice vibe, it’s a we need to check this out kinda of place. Prices are good and the food was on point.
