About The Tommyfield Hotel
A classic pub building on Kennington Lane houses The Tommyfield Hotel, with straightforward en-suite rooms set above the bar and restaurant. It's the kind of place built around its ground floor as much as its beds, with 24 hour reception, free WiFi and drinks available in the room for those who want a nightcap upstairs.
Downstairs, the kitchen has built a reputation for generous portions and quality ingredients, with the Sunday roasts and burgers particularly well regarded. The bar hosts occasional comedy nights, and staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive, though service can slow when things get busy. Breakfast is included, and the overall package is considered good value for the area.
The location puts guests within easy reach of other pubs, restaurants and eateries nearby, making it a sensible base for exploring this part of London without needing to travel far for an evening out.

What guests say
The service we received for our Sunday lunch reservation by our bartender/waiter was wonderful. The roast chicken Sunday dinner with bread sauce was delicious and were given the flexibility to swap the Yorkshire pudding which was appreciated.

I stayed in The Tommyfield for one night in January and from the off, the service was absolutely stunning. The bar staff were super helpful at check in and the room was really warm and cosy. It had everything you could need - even a curly hair diffuser (!!) - and Room Five offered a free standing bath as well as a shower in the beautiful bathroom. Everything was top notch and for such a good price. The hotel was quiet and I ate in the pub as there was a 33% discount on food when I was there. There's also regular comedy in the pub too and you're minutes from the tube. 11/10. I look forward to another stay.

Staff having a laugh not putting things back in the replacement fridge?! 6 hours after they tell me their home fridge has never failed -- how is that relevant?!? -- tracks with everything else here so far

Honestly-it has to be said that this was one of the best roasts I’ve ever had! I’m an experienced cook and also enjoy eating out. I really don’t have a negative thing to say. Absolutely awesome
