Asked for a table by the big screen as part of our reservation. This was booked well before anyone else had booked as the website was empty. We were put on an awkward high table by a screen where you had to point your neck upwards for the whole fa cup final so was a bit annoying. I asked if we could move to the big screen and they said no the others are booked. What would have been the harm in swapping the reservations? Especially when we had requested a table by the big screen. In addition, the table next to us made the same request and one of the workers sarcastically/cheekily said “does the screen not there have the football” Well of course it did, but people including us didn’t want to watch on that screen.. Shame really, was once such a good pub, ruined by the people who work there now.

We stayed for one night. It was great value for money. The bathroom and shower were clean and nice. The beds were comfortable. The entrance is separate from the pub area. The location is very close to the metro. Overall, it was a smooth and pleasant experience.

The pub is very nice and the staff extremely friendly, the bar food delicious, and the selection of beers and ciders on tap is large and well-balanced. The room above the pub was small and charmingly furnished. The only downside was that the shower didn't work. The control knob would come off in your hand, and that was it... So, a quick wash was the only option, which was tolerable since we were only staying one night. We couldn't report the problem because no one was there when we left. I would probably stay there again, as everything else was fine except for the shower.
