About Threadneedles Autograph Collection by Marriott

Threadneedles, Autograph Collection by Marriott occupies a converted 19th-century bank building on Threadneedle Street, its grand domed lobby a reminder of the structure's former life at the centre of the City of London. Spread across five floors, the hotel holds just 74 rooms, giving it a boutique feel despite its imposing exterior and City-institution setting near Bank and the Royal Exchange.

Rooms are noted for being generously sized, with comfortable beds and quality bath products in the en-suite bathrooms. Air conditioning, room service and drinks in the room are standard, and there are accessible rooms available. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on site, along with a breakfast service that guests rate highly, plus free WiFi throughout.

Beyond the guest rooms, facilities extend to meeting rooms and business services, a garden, a wedding venue, concierge and porter services, childcare, and laundry facilities, making it as suited to work trips as to weekend stays. Staff are generally described as friendly and attentive, though service is occasionally flagged as inconsistent. There's no on-site parking, but airport transfers can be arranged, and the surrounding streets offer plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy walking distance.

Always delights. I have been fortunate to stay here on multiple occasions, and it is my favourite hotel. It is beautiful, luxurious and calm. Without being pretentious. You always get a warm welcome, and there is none of the fake obsequiousness that you often get in "fancy" hotels. It is luxury done well, with decorum. This time Tianna made our stay even better with her humour, warmth and welcome. Looking forward to coming back.

The Threadneedles is a beautiful piece of classic London, a stunning old building (I believe a former bank) with all the architectural character you'd hope for in the City. Rich dark woods throughout, mahogany and cherry tones, marble accents, and the kind of detailing that feels genuinely old-world. The location is excellent, walking distance to Lloyd's, the Gherkin, and many of the key spots in the London insurance district, which made it ideal for work. The interior does lean a bit dark overall, which is really my only minor gripe, but it absolutely fits the heritage feel of the place. The staff made the stay. Genuinely friendly, accommodating, and attentive at every turn. The bar is a real highlight, a great atmosphere and a perfect spot to unwind after a day out, though it does close a bit earlier than I'd have liked. Overall a really nice place to stay and I'd happily recommend it, hopefully the rooms can see a refresh soon. A solid Autograph Collection property with a strong sense of place.

Had a mixed experience with this hotel, fantastic location and some really great people that are working here Tyanna and Caterina literally saved my life after a combination of functional and neurological seizures meant that I needed an emergency evaluation. There was a miscommunication between the hotel and Airbnb concierge thay booked me into the hotel on the wrong day. This meant having to take a power nap in the gym across the road rather than having a proper rest before a stressful family funeral. A less experienced member of the reception team was unable to find my booking and to my understanding thought I was lying about having a room at the hotel because of a cultural misunderstanding about a payment card. I was sent in the ambulance to the hospital which triggered an epileptic seizures, and spent a day recovering and needing police intervention. Once the seriousness of the situation was fully realised to hotel sprung into action and the service has been top level. Whilst I was upset to miss a day with my family (I currently live outside of London) I was very grateful to Tyana and Caterina who sprung into action and saved the day. I have a few different seizures and it can be difficult even for medical professionals to tell the difference - these women were fantastic and should be leading the training moving forward on guests with disabilities. I couldn't have asked for better guidance, they were professional, solutions focused and extremely compassionate. I would recommend if there are any disabled travelers coming to the hotel to personally request either of these wonderful women, as they really know how to keep calm in a situation! It would have been a 5/5 review if not for the miscommunication at the front desk, and some issues within the communication for people with cognitive impairment / seizure disorders - but think it's an easy fix that can be solved with some more training around epilepsy, autism and functional seizures.

We were very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a large room, which made the stay feel extra special. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It felt more like a luxury apartment than a hotel room, with plenty of space to relax and unwind after a day in the city. The hotel itself is stunning. Set in a historic former bank building, it has real character while still feeling modern and stylish. The location is perfect for a London staycation, right in the heart of the City and within easy walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and sightseeing.
