About Travelodge London Central Bank

St Swithin's Lane is a quiet, historic City of London street surrounded by the banks and offices of the Square Mile, and it's here that Travelodge London Central Bank makes its home. Cannon Street and Bank stations are both close by, putting the rest of London within easy reach for business trips or weekend exploring.

The hotel has 115 rooms spread across four floors, all with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in the room, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. A lift serves all floors and reception is staffed around the clock. Pets are welcome, which is a useful extra for travelling with animals. Rooms are kept simple and functional, though some can show their age and there's no air conditioning, so warmer months may feel stuffy.

There's no on-site parking, but chargeable parking is available a short walk from the hotel. Given the location, most guests are likely to explore on foot or by Tube rather than by car. For the price, the position in the heart of the City of London is the main draw, putting the Bank of England, Monument and the river within walking distance.

I stayed here a couple of nights ago as I was going to a concert at London stadium. The entrance was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, check in was really easy. They have a couple of vending machines in the reception which was great. The room was very clean, weather was hot and staff made an effort to ventilate the room. We got back late to the room but felt comfortable in the local area and the key cards worked great to get us back in. Great proximity to the tube. Overall an extremely good stay. Would go again. No negatives.

We were evacuated for three hours in the night due to an electrical issue that kept triggering the fire alarm. The room was so hot I was struggling for breath and I had absolutely no sleep. No fire Marshall onsite and unclear fire assembly point/instructions. Many guests just took their bags and left as the hotel wasn’t usable and there was no clear communication. I will edit this review to a better score once a full refund has been issued!

The staff were so friendly and lovely. The location was exceptional. The rooms were dirty and dingy. The carpet was thick with filth and had many sticky spots. Nowhere to hang your garments. No drawers to put things away. So you’re forced to leave your suitcase open on a filthy floor. Would never stay here again due to the deplorable sanitation in the rooms

Room window is locked and no fresh air coming from anywhere. Bathroom sync was not draining properly. Shower didn't have cold water, only hot. Mattress is spring based, not memory foam or simiral. We had paid for breakfast but the first morning there was no one on reception at 8 a.m. and on the day we left they didn't offer any. So pretty bad overall, probably worst hotel I've been in
