About Travelodge London Ilford Gants Hill

Gants Hill Station is close by, putting central London within easy reach by train, while a Burger King and other nearby eateries and a pub or bar cover food and drink without having to travel far. It's a practical base for anyone wanting to explore the capital without paying central London prices to sleep.

Travelodge London Ilford Gants Hill has 32 rooms spread across two floors, each with an en-suite bathroom and the option of drinks in the room. Accessible rooms are available, and reception is staffed around the clock. Rooms tend to be spacious and quiet, though some have been reported as tired in places, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly for a budget stay.

On-site parking is available for a charge, arranged by registering vehicles at reception on arrival, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving electric cars. Pets are welcome, and staff are generally helpful and quick to offer local information. It suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-frills place to sleep with good transport links into London.

First off the staff were very nice and professional. However, the hotel itself was terribly outdated, dirty in many places, overpriced vending machine..£3 for a bottle of water. Feel sorry for the staff having to work in such a sorry state of a hotel, carpets worn in the rooms, beds frames torn. In the evening some guests lighting up outside the reception lighting up certain type of cigarettes (if you know what I mean!). In the summer the bathroom becomes a sauna, rooms provided with two small fans but do not do the job as very hot and sweaty. 2 stars for the staff! Otherwise would have given 0 stars for the hotel.

It's a beautiful property. Few things are noteworthy. Packed breakfast which is overpriced and nothing much to offer. No lobby to sit. No common toilets other than rooms. Far away from metro. No lift for first floor rooms. One has to carry one's baggage oneself only. Big spacious rooms. No toiletries are given other than bathing shampoo and toilet rolls. Towels are offered. Excellent staff. Very cooperative.

I checked in last night and was welcomed by a lovely lady called Jayne. She was extremely welcoming, informative and helpful… 25 years of service should I add! Quiet rooms and very comfortable. 5 mins from the central line, you can’t go wrong

This is a budget hotel, so expectations are realistic — but basic courtesy should still be guaranteed. Unfortunately, the reception staff on the 27/01/26 @ 22:00 was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. As the first point of contact, the front desk sets the tone for the entire stay, and this was a very poor first impression. Being budget is not an excuse for bad service. Management should take this seriously.
