About Wembar Hotel
Warwick Road sits in the heart of Earl's Court, close to Kensington, and this is where the Wembar Hotel makes its base, with 23 rooms suited to travellers who want a straightforward place to sleep between exploring the city. The surrounding streets offer easy access to public transport, making it a practical starting point for visiting London's better-known sights.
Rooms come with air conditioning, drinks available on request, and the reassurance of a 24-hour reception for late arrivals or early starts. That said, standards vary from room to room, and some have been found lacking in upkeep and cleanliness, so it is worth setting expectations accordingly. Free WiFi is provided throughout.
There's no restaurant on site, but pubs, bars and eateries are all nearby, so food and drink are never far away. Staff are noted for being helpful, and the hotel also offers airport parking or transfer options for those arriving from further afield. It suits guests prioritising location and price over polish.

Extremely disappointing experience. Within minutes of checking in, I found that the bed sheets were visibly dirty. The staff member who escorted me to the room saw the dirty sheets himself and assured me they would be replaced while I was out. When I returned around 9:30 p.m., nothing had been done. The sheets were still dirty. The room was also unclean, the sink was dirty, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, the carpets in the common areas were filthy, there was no hairdryer, and I received fewer towels than requested. I spent no more than about ten minutes in the room in total and never stayed overnight. The room did not meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene, so I had no choice but to leave the hotel that same evening and book another hotel at my own expense. I reported everything immediately. During the email correspondence, the hotel even acknowledged that the issue with the dirty bed sheets had not been addressed after I reported it. Despite this, they refused to issue any refund and never provided a clear explanation for their decision. Paying for two nights in a room that I could not use, and then being forced to find alternative accommodation late at night, is simply unacceptable. I cannot recommend this property.

Just stayed there for two nights, for this price considering the location it was really good! Rooms could be a little updated, but the absolutely amazing staff made it “zero out”. The tube is literally 5 minutes away, also there is a bus stop right on the doorstep. I would definitely come back.

There was literally faeces or blood on the wall of our room, it had clearly not been cleaned at all, and they are now trying to deny us a refund for a room we obviously could not stay in. The rooms are otherwise completely run-down and falling apart, damp and dirty. Also, I don’t even know if this should count as a hotel. It’s self-service rooms you let yourself into and there is no staff on-site.

Unfortunately, our experience at this accommodation was very disappointing. The room was quite dirty: there were hairs all over the floor, especially in the bathroom — both long hairs and small shaved hairs. The towels had yellow stains, the sheets were not clean, and there were even old menstrual blood stains. The pillows were also dirty, and one of them had a sticky substance on it of unknown origin. The air conditioner was not working, and the hairdryer burned out as soon as we turned it on. Even the trash bin downstairs was very dirty and appeared not to have been cleaned from previous guests. From a hygiene perspective, the situation was unacceptable. There was also a serious safety issue: during check-in, my friend accidentally opened the room next door (Room 11) using the same access code as ours, where guests were inside in a very private moment. This incident made us feel extremely uncomfortable and concerned, as it seemed the same code could open multiple rooms. The manager/host was not helpful at all, never properly responded to our requests, and we never received our money back. Booking only provided us with a £48 voucher, which in no way reflects the full amount we paid for the stay. The only positive point was the polite young man downstairs, who offered us umbrellas when it was raining and was always kind and helpful. The location itself is nice and the property could be pleasant, but the lack of cleanliness, hygiene, and professionalism completely ruined our experience. Do not choose this place — unfortunately they take people’s money without providing even the basic standards they promise.
