What diners say
After a long day of walking and touring around London, we stumbled across The Phoenix and are so glad we did. It had exactly the kind of warm, relaxed atmosphere you hope to find in a proper pub after being on your feet all day. Marius and Emma were fabulous hosts from the moment we arrived. Very welcoming, attentive, and genuinely lovely to chat with. Marius also surprised us with some incredibly impressive magic tricks during the evening, which made the whole experience even more memorable and fun. The food was fantastic. The scotch egg was easily one of the best I’ve had in the city, and every dish we ordered felt thoughtfully prepared and well executed. Nothing felt generic or rushed. The upstairs dining area has such a nice atmosphere to it too. Very cozy, classic, and refined. A true proper pub experience and somewhere we’d happily return to!

Tried the Fish and chips, Sunday Roast, Mini Pie. Fish & Chips (10/10) great fry on the fish and chips. Mushy peas made with a nice zing to the flavor. Sunday Rump Roast (8/10) Presentation much better than the rest. Carrot slightly under cooked, roast a bit dry but au jus suace helps. Mini pie with Lamb & Mint (8/10) a bit small for the price but it was made well. Mint/lemon sauce might not be the best combination IMO, but gave a refreshing flavor on it.

I had a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The drinks were equally impressive—refreshing and perfectly made. A special mention to Manager Marius, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine care made the experience even more enjoyable. He made us feel truly valued and looked after throughout. Highly recommend this place for both great food and outstanding service!

Overall, a 10/10 experience! I ordered the burger, and the food was excellent. The drinks were fantastic, and we enjoyed extra magical entertainment. Marius and Chrissy were wonderful. We had a fairly large group (6), and they accommodated us perfectly.
