What diners say
Absolutely amazing dining experience last Sunday, and we left completely happy overall! The staff here are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They took the time to explain the menu and options to us, and regularly checked in on our meal. They even refilled our drinks without us ever having to ask, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was outstanding. We ordered a massive spread: the signature Tonkotsu ramen was rich and comforting, and the Tokyo ramen had a fantastic, deep flavor. For sides, the crispy squid and chicken karaage were perfectly cooked, the gyoza were delicious, and the chilli tofu had a great kick. The kimchi and cucumber pickles were also the perfect refreshing, tangy additions to the meal. Exceptional food and top-tier service, we will definitely be back!

Place is good not great. Food could do with more flavour and have never seen a seafood dish(Prawn chilli ramen)with chicken broth instead of veg. Certain food we ordered never came out of the kitchen (which we told when bill came) cutlery and water took a while to get to us. Staff were good and atmosphere was nice due to the weather being great but we were seated indoors next to a plastic tree(Guessing it’s plastic)which when we looked up realised it was full of dust and cobwebs(we were a group of 9 so no other place to move us).

Finally made it to Tonkotsu Stratford last Saturday, and it definitely lived up to the hype! We ordered a couple of ramen bowls, some sides, and beers, and every single thing hit the spot. The broth was rich and full of flavour, the noodles had the perfect bite, and the toppings were spot on. The sides disappeared almost as soon as they arrived! The vibe was relaxed, the staff were friendly, and everything came out nice and fresh. If you're a ramen lover, this place is a must-try. Already looking forward to our next visit!

If I could give a 0/5 for food, I would. The place offers Halal chicken but all of their ramen dishes contained alcohol which instantly makes it inedible (both chilli oil and soy sauce). It was very disappointing when we realise, since it meant that most of the menu was off-limits. Considering they based in Stratford where most of their customers would have a halal diet, this was very odd and misleading. Thankfully the staff were really helpful and understanding as they managed to alter a lot of the menu by swapping out the ramen bases to plain/miso so we could still enjoy some of it. However it was very hectic to go back and forth to figure out what was ok to eat. Even the boiled egg was marinated in soy sauce (which contains alcohol) and the chefs were unable to boil a regular egg for us upon request (?) I enjoyed the starters (Chicken Karage and Prawn Katsu) but the mains were below average. The Chicken Katsu curry was watered down and the Chilli Prawn Ramen (swapped to a miso base) was underwhelming. There was no umami flavour of miso. I personally wouldn't recommend if you have a halal diet. The seating and atmosphere was very awkward, the tables were tiny and felt a bit sticky. Much to improve.
