Inspirational History

I was at a professional, training event in the hotel. I did not stay at the hotel. All I can comment on is that the receptionist was texting on her moblie phone when I apprpached the front desk to ask for directions. Without lifting her eyes from her phone she told me to "take a seat" and the people who I had a meeting with would "come and call me when they were ready." She did not tell me which room was being used, nor did she acknowledge my inquiry properly. The others who were attending the same event informed me she said the same to them with equal ambiguity and disinterest. This lady was the first point of contact for the hotel. She was not only a receptionist, but she also was an ambassador for the hotel. She failed miserably. At the time, I felt that I would have liked to talk to a manager, but I just went on. The function room that I was in was okay. However cleaning staff were making so much n cleaning the toilets and rear bar that the facilitator could hardly be heard over their rattling. Again, had I have been the trainer I would have paused proceedings and asked them to start making so much noise. The only positive thing that I can close with was that the coffee and the scone that I had during my comfort break was very nice.

I recently stayed at the hotel during a function we attended in one of the suites. The hotel is clean, tastefully decorated downstairs & the staff are fantastic. From we initially entered the reception, we were warmly greeted. The bar staff & restaurant staff were extremely pleasant and a bit of craic. The rooms are excellent value for money, everything you need and clean.

I would not return based on my experience. While the facilities themselves were fine, the booking process and handling of my complaint were very disappointing. I specifically requested a spa package that I understood included a 30-minute treatment, but was instead charged for a 1-hour treatment that I do not recall agreeing to. This was not clearly explained at the time of booking, and I was not given the opportunity to make an informed decision before the service was provided. Raising the issue afterwards has been frustrating, as the response has been dismissive and focused on defending their position rather than resolving the situation fairly. Being charged for something you did not knowingly agree to is unacceptable, and the lack of transparency around pricing is a serious concern. I would strongly recommend others double-check all details in writing before booking.

3rd time staying at the Hotel, celebrating my 25th this weekend and we stayed in the Presidential King Suit which had a jacuzzi in the room, the only downfall being the LED lights in it didn't work which was disappointing! Apart from that everything else was 10/10 as always!
