Stayed in March 2026. Great B&B with self check in, convenient for us when visiting Derry. The room we got was very comfortable, and the bathroom was great. The whole place felt very cosyand warm (very welcome as it was freezing and miserable outside!) and we would have made use of the communal facilities if we'd had longer.

We had a wonderful stay in the main house at Brackfield House! The bed was comfy, the room was large, and quiet! The host was a font of information about the area and fun to visit with. We checked in and got settled, then drove off to find dinner. Good places are a short drive away. The city of Derry is very close by too, but out here, you're in the quiet countryside—best of both worlds. Our goal was to visit the Dambo Trolls in the Sperrin Mountains not far away, and Brackfield House makes a great base for this exploration. When we come back to this area, we'll definitely plan on a longer stay. On a personal note, I left my passport and a few hundred Euros in our room as we checked out. I didn't miss it for a day or two, but was just in the process of ransacking the rental car when I got a call from David: I'd left it hanging on a hook under a bathrobe. Since we hadn't actually gone very far in those two days, it was not a problem to backtrack via a different route through the Glenveagh National Park, retrieve the passport and every last penny, and explore Derry a bit more... so my catastrophic blunder turned into nothing but a nice day of sightseeing! Definitely allow yourself time to check out the immediate area. There's a lot to see and do in Derry, and the Sperrins, but as with every corner of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Killaloo has a history that David will share (and his own family history on the place is a story you'll want to hear, too!) A highlight of our vacation. Thank you!

Was very happy with the ease of check-in as we showed up later than expected. Room and bathroom were well appointed, comfortable, and spacious; we got great rest. Some breakfast offerings like tea/coffee, toast, and cereal. We only encountered the owner on the way out; he was friendly and attentive. Would gladly stay again if I found myself in the area.
