Rich Victorian's entertainment place with all the imagination and money from the industrial revolution. Clean and free toilets, mainly wheelchair accessible. A wonderful park rain or shine. Would highly recommend.

One of my favourite days out for a ride on Northern Rail trains, on a Sunday we have to start from Wigan as trains from Southport do not start until far too late. Approaching the Pavilion Gardens building kn foot is always impressive. Always a beautiful display of tropical plants inside the enclosed area and also a nice fish pool, well stocked with Carp. After walking through the enclosed gardens there is a good restaurant followed by a retail with plenty of craft and specialist stalls. Once through the indoor areas there is a large outdoor park area with picturesque stream and a number of friendly Canada Geese with this year's broods of goslings. Having walked through the park you are back into the town with it's lovely buildings and architecture and a plethora of smaller shops and cafes. Altogether, a lovely day out.

We visited on a beautiful sunny day and had a fantastic time. While the park isn’t massive, it is beautifully kept and very family-friendly. It did get quite packed between 2 pm and 5 pm, but that’s to be expected given how nice the weather was! The Miniature Train The miniature train is absolutely fantastic! My child loved it so much we had to go on it twice. It costs £2.50 per person and you get two laps around the park—it’s a really cute experience and well worth it. The Pavilion & Food We stopped by the Pavilion itself and were pleasantly surprised by the art on display; there were some lovely pieces at very decent prices. There is also a cafe and a dedicated ice cream pavilion on-site.

We didn't fully know what to expect we just did a quick detour and we weren't disappointed. Lovely gardens to stroll around, lots of different plants to see, trees to identify (they had name plaques which we thought was a good idea!) Nice little waters etc. Overall a lovely little hour or 2 passed just a nice relaxing stroll around. Lovely little shop we bought a couple of gifts from. And we also visited the cafe- this was the most disappointing. All of the premade food options contained mayonnaise which meant I personally couldn't eat them, but other than that, reasonably priced, good choice of fillings, selection of cakes and smaller bits too if you wished. Neither of the 2 car park paying machines were working on the day we visited.
