What visitors say
I visited on my way home today and met Paul the owner, wonderful and hospitable man. My word this campsite has it all, even frying pans to use at the washing up area, showers, toilets and even free WIFI, absolutely outstanding campsite. Very cheap and extremely cost effective, i was amazed by the quietness and serenity given its location. A must visit if you are looking for a GREAT chilled out safe camp site. Very clean, tidy and even a dog area too, his really worked hard to make this place special for those of us that enjoy the outdoors, be it in a tent, campervan, caravan etc. 10/10 in my book that's a given, i was only going to spend 10 minutes to suss it out i ended up chatting with Paul for well over an hour, his even given me permission to metal detect it ! This in itself is something special due to the history of the place, Roman history as a road connecting from the fort at Northwich to Warrington runs directly underneath the land. It has everything that you could possibly need and more, a beautiful quiet space with hook up's to electricity too. I rarely give 10/10 but i just had to after my visit. Thanks Paul

Lovely campsite with great facilities. Clean showers and toilets, well-maintained grounds, and friendly staff. Everything was well organised and made for a really enjoyable stay. Would happily stay again. Paul is responsive and helpful! (only thing was we stayed for park life festival and was bit of a trek but we managed to get an uber there and back £30-£60 & you can hear cars a bit at night but location. overall is pretty good)

Recently stayed here with a friend for a night as the site is local but far enough away for a short break. Before I mention the site itself, I just wanted to mention the owner who was very helpful and friendly throughout, thank you again. Unfortunately, my personal experience of staying at this site wasn’t great. The site was very busy and I feel that both the toilet and shower blocks are not suitable for such number of people when the site is relatively busy as it was during our stay. I was very disappointed as loud music was played by other guests until around 3am, accompanied by shouting and screaming throughout, despite the website clearly stating a noise curfew. I managed to get a couple of hours sleep and then left first thing in the morning as I was exhausted from the night before and frustrated that the rules which are advertised are clearly not enforced. The site itself is very basic but I feel the price is fair for what is included and the facilities are clearly advertised online.

Stayed at this campsite for 2 nights solo camping, got back today. I’ve always wanted to try it but always been worried id feel unsafe. It’s basically the standard kind of campsite, back to basics which is just what I wanted Paul was lovely as were all the staff. I asked for some logs & a fire pit on the first night and he explained I could order them on the website and he would get them sorted for when I arrived. The fire pit is an amazing little piece of kit, comes in a bag not much bigger than my hand! .. fire pit will be coming on many more trips to come. Paul is more than available to help when needed too and just a very friendly lovely bloke. Toilets are clean and more than decent for the price of the campsite, nothing special. The showers you do need to pay for but for a few pounds considering this is the cheapest campsite around I can’t stick my nose up. Lovely pub down near the post office about a 15 minute walk adds to a good pub spot when camping
