About The Dartmoor Inn at Lydford
Walkers, cyclists and anyone keen to explore Dartmoor National Park on foot or in the saddle will find The Dartmoor Inn at Lydford a practical base for the trip. Set on Moorside in Lydford, it puts guests within easy reach of Lydford Gorge and the wider moor, with horse riding and cycling routes nearby as well as pubs, bars and restaurants in the immediate area.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks and free WiFi, and the inn operates a 24 hour reception so arrival times aren't a worry. There's a restaurant and bar on site serving breakfast and meals throughout the day, with kids' meals available for families, and pets are welcome too, making it a straightforward option for travelling with children or dogs.
Free on-site parking is provided, which is useful given the rural setting and the driving involved in reaching different parts of the national park. It suits those planning active days out on the moor or around the gorge, returning to a proper meal and a drink at the bar rather than needing to travel further afield in the evening.
Diners like this restaurant's delicious and beautifully presented food, with many highlighting the excellent full English breakfast, hearty roasts, and diverse vegetarian options. They also mention the welcoming and attentive staff, who provide exceptional service and cater well to dietary needs. Guests appreciate the cozy pub atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and good value for money.
