What visitors say
Really lovely campsite right next to Lydford Gorge, Dartmoor, and a few very nice restaraunts and Inns. The facilities were very generous and clean, even offering changing rooms, hair dryers and groceries amongst the usual amenities, and the hot showers were perfect after a big day. The grounds, pathways and pitches were all very tidy, with many options available for those who prefer wind protection, a beautiful view, or easy access to amenities. The staff are warm and attentive, going above and beyond to make the stay an enjoyable one. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful place to pitch up. Stunning views. Great wardens and owners and facilities are just what you need and no more. Location is brilliant. Helpful guides to walks and cycles locally. Bus stops just down road at war memorial for Tavistock or Okehampton. Granite way and Lydford Gorge all on doorstep and the pub in the village is very good too. We will be back. Thanks to all that make this place amazing.

11/05/26: A very pleasant camp and close to a number of interesting historical and geographical sites. The wardens were very friendly and helpful and maintain the site as one would expect from an Affiliated C&MC site. The campsite has an area designated for dog walking; a mown grass track running around the perimeter of one of the camping fields, the Dart Field; however it is not secure. This track is also partly gravel where it skirts the main field, existing at the Toilet Block. You may see the occasional Deer in the field but they soon disappear once they see a sign of human or animal activity. There are plenty of things one can do from the site including the White Lady waterfall which can be accessed from the nearby Lydford Gorge National Trust site. You can either traverse the well defined pathway through the wooded valley, which makes for a more pleasant experience than walking on the road or doing the roadway. The village of Lydford has a surprising amount of traffic passing through but has a variety of interesting architectural buildings and the lovely Castle Inn which is well worth a visit with its 15/16th century architecture. The Inn does a range of food and an equally impressive range of local beers too. There are also some very pleasant seating areas both at the front and rear of the building. The campground is very popular and deservedly so.
